A man is accused of plunging a steak knife into a woman, killing her, before turning the weapon on himself Tuesday in a South Lawndale apartment, according to police.
No charges have been announced for the 59-year-old man, who was seriously injured, police said. He was arrested and remained hospitalized, according to a police report.
Officers found the man and woman when they responded to a report of a person stabbed around 11:35 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Christiana Avenue., Chicago police said.
The woman, whose age wasn’t immediately known, suffered multiple puncture wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A man, also stabbed multiple times, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was in serious condition, officials said.
At least one steak knife was recovered at the scene, according to the report, which also stated that the man attacked the woman before stabbing himself.
Area 4 detectives were investigating.
