OAKLAND — A 30-year-old woman pumping gas Wednesday evening at an East Oakland station was pistol-whipped and had her truck stolen, authorities said.
The woman was in stable condition after being taken to a hospital, where she was treated for head injuries.
The violent attack happened about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at a gas station in the 9700 block of Edes Avenue.
Police said the woman was pumping gas into her white Ford F150 truck when a car pulled up and a man got out. The man approached the woman from behind and began hitting her in the back of her head with a gun before taking off in the truck, police said.
The car the suspect arrived in also drove away.
The truck had not been recovered as of Thursday morning.
A detailed description of the man who attacked the woman has not been released.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrests of the suspects. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
