A bar owner has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a dismembered woman was found on a tourist each in Gran Canaria.
The victim, who has been identified as a 41-year-old Colombian national, was stabbed in the neck before the killer tried to dismember the body.
The woman had texted a friend to say she was going to a party but was not seen alive after that, according to police.
Her body was later found by a member of the public on San Andres beach, after an attempt was made to dispose of it elsewhere.
Police have since arrested a bar owner on suspicion of murder.
He is due to appear in court either today or tomorrow.
