OAKLAND — A woman who sustained severe trauma at an Oakland residence Friday morning later died and her death is being investigated as a homicide, authorities said.
No other information has been released about the woman.
Police also have not yet said how she sustained the trauma. An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
Paramedics treated the woman about 8:48 a.m. Friday at a residence in the 2900 block of Schyler Street. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
Authorities have not specified a possible motive. No arrests were announced.
The death is the 59th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 75 homicides in the city.
