Monday’s episode of Raw was supposed to put the first pieces of the Superstar Shakeup together. Instead, it turned into a convoluted mess. We did find out some of the new additions to the red brand, but there were still a number of performers who appeared whose status remains uncertain.

By the second hour of the show, I was confused. I do know AJ Styles is now a part of the Raw roster as he joined Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a six-man tag team match against Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin.

Prior to AJ Styles and a few other Raw confirmations, the WWE posted this tweet announcing some of the new additions to Raw.

Here are the other Superstars we learned about on Monday.

On Both Shows

It appears the women’s tag-team champions will automatically pull double duty. The new champions lost quickly to Bayley and Naomi (the latter has apparently replaced the disgruntled Sasha Banks) which should set up a feud moving forward.

Added to Raw

The A-Lister announced his presence on Raw by attacking Shane McMahon. He also got a legit cut on the left side of his head in the skirmish. Clearly, The Miz and Shane feud will be continuing their program on Mondays. This was a smart move to help Raw gain some traction. The Miz has been fantastic in every feud he’s been in for the past three years. Raw needs his talent and storytelling.

Ricochet and Aleister Black

I don’t mind either of these guys being on Raw, but I do believe they should both be singles wrestlers. It’s still cool to see them staying with the main roster.

The Viking Experience fka The War Raiders

I loved the War Raiders and figure to have a similar affinity for them on Raw. However, I kind of hate their new name. I’m not sure why the WWE rebrands some of the guys and girls after they are called up to the main roster. In any case, the guys are the reigning NXT Tag-Team champs, so they figure to pull double duty for a little while. Still, I hope they are stepping into a bigger and better tag-team scene.

One of the most dynamic cruiserweights in WWE is headed to Raw. While I’m not always a fan of Alexander’s dramatics (his facial expressions are a bit overdone) he’s amazing in the ring and the kind of cruiserweight who can easily perform with other wrestlers of any size. That said, Alexander feels more like a Smackdown wrestler, but we’ll see.

Another strong worker is headed to Raw, and it’s clear the red brand is looking to amp up its in-ring product. Andrade is the kind of star who could immediately find himself in the championship picture. It appears he and Finn Balor will be battling for the Intercontinental title. That program could produce some classic matches. …read more
