$100 Million 5-Time Major-Winning Golfer Announces Stunning Personal News

LIV Golf is losing one of the league’s top golfers in a stunning development heading into 2026. Brooks Koepka is parting ways with LIV as the league released a statement from the golfer’s team.

“Brooks Koepka will be stepping away from LIV Golf,” the statement detailed on December 23, 2025, per Sports Illustrated. “He is deeply grateful to Yasir Al-Rumayyan (the governor of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, (LIV CEO) Scott O’Neil, and the LIV Golf leadership team, his teammates and the fans.”

It remains unclear whether Koepka will look to rejoin the PGA Tour or step away from golf completely in 2026. Back in June 2022, Koepka signed a lucrative deal topping $100 million to join LIV, per ESPN’s Mark Schlabach.

Here’s what you need to know about Koepka’s future.

Brooks Koepka Cited Family Reasons in Decision to Leave LIV as PGA Tour Future Remains Uncertain

LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil released a statement on Koepka’s departure. The 5-time major winner cited family as one of the major reasons for the decision.

“We have amicably and mutually agreed that Brooks Koepka will no longer compete in the LIV Golf League, following the 2025 season,” O’Neil noted, per ESPN. “Brooks is prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home.

“We appreciate the significant impact he has had on the game and wish him continued success, both on and off the course.”

Brooks Koepka’s Wife Jena Sims Recently Shared That the Couple Experienced a Miscarriage

The news on Koepka’s future comes just months after his wife Jena Sims shared that the couple experienced a miscarriage. Koepka and Sims are the proud parents of one son: Crew.

“At 16 weeks, we learned that our baby’s heart had stopped beating,” Sims revealed in an October 6, Instagram message. “This is a grief no parent is ever prepared for. We are devastated, but remain hopeful to give Crew a sibling one day.

“Too often, these struggles happen in silence. There is still so much work and research needed to better understand and support women’s reproductive health. If you’re experiencing or have experienced pregnancy loss or infertility, please know you are not alone. 💔”

LIV Golf Had Signed Brooks Koepka to a $100 Million Through 2026: Report

Koepka has won three PGA Championships and two U.S. Open titles. The star golf has struggled to regain consistent form since his departure to LIV.

Back in March, Koepka emphasized that he planned to fufill his contract with LIV. Koepka still had another year left on his deal with LIV, per Golf Digest’s Joel Beall.

“I’ve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill, and then we’ll see what happens,” Koepka told reporters on March 12, per ESPN. “I don’t know where I’m going, so I don’t know how everybody else does.”

Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf could complicate his future with the PGA Tour. Depending on the language of Koepka’s deal, the golfer may need to sit out the 2026 season instead of rejoining the PGA Tour. It is unclear if Koepka has a desire to return to the PGA Tour amid the recent news.
