Adam Scott’s Family: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Adam Scott is best known for his smooth swing, Masters green jacket, and calm presence on the golf course. But away from the spotlight, he’s a deeply private family man.

From a low-key marriage to a growing household with three kids, Scott’s personal life reflects the same intentional, grounded demeanor that defines his career.

Here’s what you need to know about the Australian golf star’s life off the course:

1. Adam Scott Married Swedish Architect Marie Kojzar in a Private Ceremony in the Bahamas in 2014.

Adam Scott married Marie Kojzar, a Swedish architect, in a quiet ceremony at his home in the Bahamas on April 17, 2014. The wedding took place just days after Scott defended his Masters title at Augusta and shocked the golf world with its understated nature–there was no public announcement, no tabloid buildup, and no highly publicized engagement.

“It was just our family and a few friends and obviously there are a lot of people we would have liked to have had been there who weren’t, but we decided to have a very low-key affair,” Scott said.

“She [his wife] doesn’t need a traditional wedding dress to look so beautiful. We dressed up a little bit, but it was still in the back yard.”

2. Marie Kojzar Met Scott While Working as an Au Pair in 2001.

Kojzar was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden and studied architecture at the prestigious Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Long before becoming Scott’s wife, she worked as an au pair for the family of Danish golfer Thomas Bjørn, which is how she and Scott first crossed paths in 2001. The two began dating shortly afterward and were together for several years before parting ways in 2008.

Kojzar eventually returned to architecture, maintaining a career out of the public eye even after reuniting with Scott in 2013. Known for her quiet presence and preference for privacy, Kojzar has never sought the spotlight, opting instead to support her husband from the background while continuing her own work away from the media.

Her low-profile approach has often been noted as a perfect complement to Scott’s similarly understated personality.

3. The Couple Has 3 Children Together: A Daughter, Bo Vera, and Two Sons, Byron & Bjorn.

In February 2015, Adam and Marie welcomed their first child, a daughter named Bo Vera. Since then, the couple has expanded their family with two sons, Byron and Björn.

Though Scott rarely shares details about his children publicly, he’s been vocal about how fatherhood has impacted his perspective, noting in interviews that having kids has helped him find balance in an otherwise all-consuming sport.

4. Scott Comes From a Close-Knit Golfing Family. His Dad, Phil, Was an Aspiring Pro Golfer.

Scott was born on July 16, 1980, in Adelaide, South Australia, to parents Phil and Pam. His father was an aspiring pro golfer whose career was derailed by a motorbike injury. Instead of stepping away from the sport, Phil pivoted to golf course design and became Adam’s first coach.

Adam’s mother was equally supportive, often traveling with him during his junior and amateur years. She often helped keep his life balanced during the early stages of his career.

“Mom is still a pretty good player. She was a club champion in her day and is back in single digits. She still likes to tell me, ‘It’s all about the putting, Adam,’” Scott said.

The early influence clearly paid off. Scott turned pro in 2000 and eventually made his way to the top of the golfing world. He also has a sister, Casey, who’s kept a low profile, but remains close to the family.

5. The Family Lives in Zurich, Switzerland, And Has a Second Home in the Bahamas

Scott and his family make their primary home in Zurich, Switzerland, a city known for its privacy, clean living, and understated luxury–qualities that align well with Scott and his wife Marie’s quiet lifestyle. In addition to their Swiss residence, the couple also owns a second home in the Bahamas, where they were married.

Both locations offer a peaceful escape from the demands of the PGA Tour, and Scott has spoken in interviews about how important it is to have a calm, grounded environment for his family. The decision to base their lives in relatively low-profile places reflects their commitment to privacy and raising their children away from the spotlight.
