Arsenal face three massive fixtures in November but Alan Shearer is convinced they have already played their toughest game of the season.

The Gunners host north London rivals Tottenham after the international break before taking on Bayern Munich and locking horns with Chelsea.

Arsenal are hoping to finally get their hands on the Premier League title this term after finishing as runners-up for the last three seasons in a row.

Mikel Arteta’s side are also fighting for the Champions League trophy with Opta’s Supercomputer currently tipping them as the favourites for the title.

Arsenal have won all four of their opening Champions League games and are also sat at the top of the Premier League table after 11 matches.

The Gunners’ only top-flight defeat this term was against Liverpool at Anfield in August but Shearer feels Arsenal will not face a tougher game than their 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Shearer’s surprising claim comes despite Arsenal having not yet played Premier League title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad, with that game set to take place in April 2026.

‘I doubt Arsenal will have a tougher game this season than the one they had at the weekend [against Sunderland],’ Shearer told Betfair.

‘I’ve been mightily surprised at how well Sunderland have done. I don’t think even their most hardened supporters would tell you that they’d be where they are in the league and what they’re doing so far this season.

‘I think one thing that’s come out of Sunderland is how tough it’s going to be for any team going to the Stadium of Light.’

Shearer rules Liverpool out of the title race

Meanwhile, Shearer feels Arsenal have a great chance to land this season’s Premier League title with the former striker adamant that Liverpool are no longer in the race.

The Reds are the current champions of England but suffered a 3-0 defeat to City last time out and are currently eighth in the Premier League table.

‘If Liverpool continue to play like they did against Manchester City, then they won’t win anything,’ Shearer added.

‘They’ll get dumped out of whatever competitions they’re in. They’ve got the FA Cup and the Champions League, but I do think the league’s gone for them now they’ve lost five games.

‘I don’t see them being in a title race now. I think they would have to probably win every single game between now and the end of the season.

‘I don’t think that’s possible. So, I think their title race is done.

‘It’s the Champions League or the FA Cup for Liverpool, but they won’t be winning any of those unless they improve anyway.’
