Amad Diallo cannot wait to welcome Marcus Rashford back into the Manchester United fold amid renewed speculation about his future.

The England international’s Old Trafford career appeared to be over last season when he was deemed surplus to requirements by Ruben Amorim.

A productive loan spell at Barcelona appeared to have rejuvenated the 28-year-old but the Spanish champions opted against making his move a permanent one.

The change of management at United, where Michael Carrick was confirmed as Amorim’s permanent replacement earlier this summer, could offer Rashford one final chance at his boyhood club.

It remains to be seen, however, whether or not United look to cash in on a player who still has major admirers in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s search for a new left-sided forward has thus far been fruitless and, as such, Rashford continues to be linked with a move to the English champions.

Indeed, former United striker Michael Owen believes Rashford would fit perfectly into Mikel Arteta’s side after they missed out on the signing of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior.

‘I didn’t see Vinicius Junior to Arsenal happening, but a move for someone like Rashford would make sense,’ he told Metro.

‘This would be a move I can see happening and makes sense as Arsenal are looking for a left-sided striker.

‘He would fit well into Arteta’s plans and work well with the rest of the squad they have. So I can see this happening if Arsenal were to approach Manchester United.’

Diallo, meanwhile, hopes Rashford will fit seamlessly back in at United who continued their eye-catching pre-season form with a 1-1 draw against PSG in Gothenburg.

‘It was a good game, we knew how tough they are to beat,’ said the Ivory Coast international.

‘It is exciting to have Bruno, Mazraoui and other players.

‘Now we need Rashford, Kobbie and it is exciting.

‘We have two more games against Leeds and Milan, we need to get our fitness and hopefully we can win a trophy this season.’
