Amir Khan is backing Daniel Dubois to get the job done against Fabio Wardley and become a two-time heavyweight world champion tonight.

Dubois successfully defended his IBF title with a devastating knockout victory over Anthony Joshua in 2024 but lost the strap to Oleksandr Usyk last summer as the Ukrainian was crowed undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time.

He takes on Wardley in Manchester with the newly-crowned WBO king making the first defence of his title in a compelling domestic dust-up.

Wardley has enjoyed a magnificent rise through the ranks, putting away domestic rivals David Adeleye and Frazer Clarke before making a huge statement on the world stage against Joseph Parker last October.

Parker was perhaps the most in-form heavyweight in the world outside of Usyk but was stopped late on by the Ipswich brawler.

Dubois has had to bounce at various stages in his career with former world champion Khan a huge admirer of his come-forward style that has seen him rack up a 95 per cent knockout ratio.

And the British boxing legend sees a new champion being crowned tonight.

‘Dubois is one of my guys. I like the way Dubois fights. He goes head-to-head, don’t give a s**t,’ Khan told Metro via Betway.

‘When he fights, he goes for the full knockout. Look at what he did to AJ, he went into beast mode and knocked out an Olympic champion who has unified the division twice. He didn’t beat just anybody, he beat one of the kings of the heavyweight division.

‘Daniel’s one of the sick fighters that comes to war and fights. Now, when I said that he’s going to win this fight, I’ve had my friends, who are also big boxing fans who go to boxing fights together, saying that Fabio Wardley is going to knock out Daniel Dubois. and I disagree because the guy’s got a bit of a chin on him.

‘It’s a bit confusing to me though because Fabio Wardley has huge knockout power and the boy has some serious power. He has had some great wins including a former world champion in Joseph Parker and the KO against Frazer Clarke,

‘I don’t see Dubois freezing on the big stage. He has fought and beat AJ at Wembley Stadium in front of 90,000 and done the same again with Oleksandr Usyk. He lost the fight to Usyk, but this is Usyk, he’s the greatest fighter of an era so there is no shame to that. I back Dubois to get the job done.’
