Angel Reese’s Interaction With Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford Turns Heads at Canelo Fight

Terence “Bud” Crawford received a surprise visit just hours before his primetime Netflix fight versus Canelo Alvarez. WNBA star Angel Reese made a visit to Crawford’s locker room ahead of his marquee fight.

Reese posed for pictures with Crawford after making small talk with the boxer. Netflix posted a video of the interaction and fans are already loving it.

Some fans noticed Reese is much taller than the star boxer. Reese is listed at 6-foot-3, while Crawford is a more modest 5-foot-8. Now we know why one of these athletes is an elite rebounder, but Crawford has proved in the ring that height is just a number.

“Dang she’s a giant next to him,” one person responded. “Wow.”

“Bud’s focus is generational,” another added.

“Oh she’s big time,” said one fan.

“Nice outfit,” added another.

Angel Reese & the Chicago Sky Have Been Involved in a Public Rift

Reese reposted the interaction but no word on who the Chicago Sky star is taking in the fight. The forward has been in the news for other reasons amid a public standoff with the Sky.

Reese was recently suspended by Chicago for conduct detrimental to the team. Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca emphasized that the team plans to keep Reese rather than explore trades.

“That’s the direction we’re going to move, is that she’s on the roster,” Pagliocca noted, per Fox News.

“Angel is an ascending young talent in this league who’s had two very, very good seasons here in Chicago. Obviously we went through what we did. I feel like we closed the chapter on it,” Pagliocca added.

“She spoke to her teammates, she spoke publicly. We moved on as a team. She’s a special player. And I have good conversations with Angel daily, with her team daily. They’re constant, and they’re productive.”

Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford on Facing Canelo Alvarez: ‘It’s Talked About All Over the World Right Now’

With heavy hitters like Dana White and Netflix, the Canelo-Crawford fight was one of the more anticipated boxing matches in recent years. Crawford believes the Netflix factor has been huge win for the the fight.

“Well, it’s not just Dana,” Crawford told reporters prior to the fight. “It’s Netflix as well. This is a massive fight. It’s talked about all over the world right now.

“You can’t go to any site and not see Terrence Crawford and Canelo being mentioned and talked about. … Netflix is doing a wonderful job promoting the fight.”

The Stars Were Out at the Canelo vs. Crawford Fight

The stars were out for the main event, but many casual fans were able to tune into the match thanks to the event being streamed on Netflix. Crawford is hoping that the match being on Netflix instead of a pay-per-view will help grow interest in the sport.

“It’s (Netflix) very important because if you look at boxing back in the day, boxing was like the No. 1 sport in the U.S. before (the) NBA and NFL took over,” Crawford noted during a September 10, press conference.

“But the reason why it was because it was on regular TV and more people can take notice of it. …So it’s great to be able to be on Netflix. And it’s great to have those people that don’t have cable to be able to witness a fight like this.”
