Footage shared on social media captured the moment the man fell from the bleachers.

The spectator had fallen onto the warning track and coaches from both teams rushed toward him.

The incident happened during the seventh inning of the game.

He was treated for around five minutes before being carted away.

The fan was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

Players from both teams were left stunned by what had happened.

Andrew McCutchen, an outfielder for the Pirates, covered his mouth and took the knee.

Chicago Cubs stars Dansby Swanson and Michael Busch also looked despondent as they watched the man being treated.

Witnesses also didn’t know if the man had jumped or fallen.

“It was quick. I couldn’t tell if he jumped or fell,” Sam Miller told NBC News.

McCutchen also spoke out about the fall.

“Truly hate what happened tonight,” he posted on X.

“Can’t help but think about that guy, his family and friends. I pray for him tonight.

“Let us think about his loved ones and hug our families a little tighter tonight. I hope he pulls thru.”

Dansby Swanson also spoke of his horror.

“Obviously we are just praying for him, good strong recovery, just to be with him and his family,” he said.

“Never been a part of something like that and obviously hope to never be a part of something like that again.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family,” the Pittsburgh Pirates said in a statement.

And the team’s manager, Derek Shelton, also wished the fan well.

Pittsburgh defeated the Cubs 4-3.
