The Chicago Bears completed an impressive comeback, culminating in a big victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. And after the game, it was clear emotions were running high for the Bears, but in a perfect way.
Specifically, quarterback Caleb Williams was asked about his head coach Ben Johnson, and he didn’t hold back.
“I got the best coach in the world, let’s put it that way,” Williams told reporters. “We have the best coaching staff in the world. So, you put the talent with the coaches and the people that care, you can strive for anything, you can reach anything, you can go after any goal. And when you go out there on that football field, your belief is at an all-time high between players, between coaches, and you have outcomes like this.”
Ben Johnson Credits Team’s Perseverance In Win
After the team’s impressive comeback, Johnson spoke highly of his team for their efforts.
“This is a special group,” Johnson said (via USA Today). “They’re mentally tough, they’re physically tough. I know we’re going to fight you for 60 minutes. In a game like that, even though the odds were against us late, we’re going to keep on swinging and make some plays.”
“I don’t think I’ve been around a team that, when it’s this late in games, they don’t bat an eye,” Johnson added. “You don’t feel any despair on the sidelines from any of the phases. You might feel it in the stadium a little bit. I could feel the fans kind of come to life again once we got a little momentum going in the fourth quarter. But with our guys, they don’t miss a beat. They just keep plugging along and know good things will come.”
This win marked Chicago’s sixth fourth-quarter comeback this season.

“Let me tell you something right now. This is a special group,” he said. “This doesn’t happen everywhere gentleman. Where we are right now, what you guys are doing, it’s no fluke. It’s no fluke. You are mentally touyh, you are physically tough, and you fight all 60 minutes. Hell of a job!”
“Man we said it all week long, we had to be great in the red zone. We had to be great in the red zone. 0-for-5 defensive red zone. Now bear with me for a second. I got four game balls here, all right? Cause that sequence there at the end, a number of guys stepped up, all right? Let me start with the first one, Cairo Santos…”
“Fourth down, cover zero. Who do you throw it to? Jahdae Walker…”
“Special teams demon coming through right when we need it. We need an on onside kick, and Josh Blackwell…”
“All right, last one here, man. Last one. And Caleb, I love you. I love you, all right? But this one’s not going to you. Cause this guy battled through, man. He went down early. He got back up. He knew this team needed him for 60 minutes. DJ Moore!…”
“Make sure you enjoy it, all right? The big games, they keep coming now. The big games keep coming. The job is not done. Do not forget that.”
