Bears Ranked Below Packers in Most Recent Super Bowl Odds

The Chicago Bears are finally getting some well-deserved respect from the national media, yet they still aren’t being listed as a top-tier threat to win a Super Bowl. Despite wins against the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers on a national stage, the Bears are still ranked below both in DraftKings Sportsbook’s most recent 2025 Championship Odds. In fact, the Bears sit outside the top 10 of teams most likely to win it all, despite being the second seed in the NFC. Regardless of whether it is the odds or even fan conjecture, the Bears are still misunderstood, and here is why.

Bears Fans Are Experiencing Past Trauma

The rapid turnaround of the Bears franchise has caused some turbulence among fans and oddsmakers alike. Good Morning Football host Kyle Brandt ran a segment on Monday, December 22, reading Bears fans’ tweets during their Week 16 matchup against the Packers. These tweets were coming in live during the game before the Bears’ thrilling comeback victory.

An example of a tweet Brandt reviewed goes as follows: “Loser team. Not a playoff team. Utterly pathetic.”

Much of the sentiment of what he was reading was centered around Chicago always losing and criticizing the team for its flaws.

No team in the NFL is flawless; there are always areas for teams to exploit and get an advantage. Yet when discussing the Bears, their flaws seem to carry more weight than those of other franchises.

Sports Illustrated just released an article ranking all the Bears’ flaws ahead of their Week 17 matchup with the 49ers. It’s not surprising that people are having whiplash from the Bears’ rise to the top of the league and are fixating on the mistakes.

GettyThe Chicago Bears lost in the 2018 NFC Wild Card game to the Philadelphia Eagles after Bears kicker Cody Parkey missed a 43-yard game-winning field goal after it “double doinked” off the crossbar.

The Bears’ last playoff win was 15 years ago against the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round in 2010. The Bears have had 20 different starting quarterbacks and five different head coaches since then. Along with the turnover came some heartbreaking losses that have led fans to be somewhat skeptical about the legitimacy of Chicago’s success.

Fans and the odds makers are missing the point about the Chicago Bears; the stigma of the team’s past is preventing consensus from buying into the present.

The Truth About The Chicago Bears

The truth is that the Bears excel in the areas that matter most in the postseason. There are three main keys to success when it comes to winning playoff games.

GettyChicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore’s 46-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Caleb Williams knocks off the Green Bay Packers in overtime of their Week 16 matchup.

Can you take the ball away and capitalize on other teams’ mistakes?

According to The Football Database, the Chicago Bears are currently first in the NFL in terms of point differential and lead the league in interceptions, while being tied for second-to-last in total giveaways.

Can you come back from your own mistakes if you have to?

The Bears lead the NFL with six fourth-quarter comebacks this season, and Caleb Williams has tied Peyton Manning for the most comebacks in a season by a player under the age of 25, according to NFL Plus.

Can you run the ball to seal the deal and close out the game?

Behind running backs D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, Chicago is averaging the second-most rushing yards per game.

While this Bears team does have flaws, they are winning despite them. The 2025 Bears are comparable to the Washington Commanders of last season. A team that shocked the world with their quick turnaround and comeback victories before finding themselves in the NFC Championship game

While the past makes it understandable why the Packers are currently listed above the Bears in the Super Bowl odds, and that fans are skeptical of their success, the present tells a different story. The 2025 Bears deserve to not only be recognized as a Super Bowl-caliber team but as a team that can still grow and win in spite of their flaws.
