Bears Star Gives Interesting Claim About Vikings’ Justin Jefferson

The Minnesota Vikings‘ clash with the Chicago Bears on November 16 will be interesting after the latest claim from Jaquan Brisker about Justin Jefferson.

Brisker came into the league in 2022 after Chicago drafted him in the second round of the NFL Draft that year. Moreover, while speaking to the media on October 30, the 26-year-old safety shared a story about the Vikings star.

According to the Bears star, he was able to get under Jefferson’s skin to the point where the Minnesota wideout wasn’t hiding his emotions during their confrontation out on the field.

“We’re going to talk, and it does—especially the way I talk and the way other people talk,” Brisker told reporters. “I mean, we get [in] people’s heads. A grown man would really be crying out there. A grown man with kids. Like, imagine that. Seriously. It’s hilarious. I wish I was mic’d up every game…

“My rookie year, you could ask Kindle Vildor. He was at corner, and I was talking a lot of trash to Justin Jefferson’s when he dropped every ball. First half, he killed us, but second half, just pay attention to the game—you’ll see.”

Vikings’ Justin Jefferson Talks J.J. McCarthy Return

Jefferson will be focused on bigger priorities than Brisker’s comments as Minnesota battle to stay in the NFC playoff race. On October 30, before J.J. McCarthy’s return against the Detroit Lions, Jefferson spoke with the media about what it means to have the young QB back under center.

“Looks good,” Jefferson told reporters“Just going through the plays, going through the motions, dialing up the connection, and, of course, expanding the relationship that we have out there on the field. So it’s been great. I feel like he has the confidence to go out there and do what we expect him to do.

“It’s just all about having that energy and thinking about one play at a time—not thinking about the big play, making the best play of the game, or being perfect throughout the game. It’s just all about taking one play at a time, leaning on everybody in the offense to go to work, and just lead us. And that’s pretty much the main message to him.”

Justin Jefferson Gets Major Praise

Jefferson has found success regardless of who has been under center for Minnesota. Recently, former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald applauded for what Jefferson has been able to do with the Vikings despite the rotating cast of quarterbacks since entering the league in 2020.

“I think Justin Jefferson, to me, what he’s been able to do, and I think Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson are like neck and neck, right?” Fitzgerald said on a recent appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show.”

“But Ja’Marr has had the luxury of having somebody who’s in the conversation of MVP, quality player at quarterback, and Joe Burrow his entire career. Justin has done it with Sam Darnold. He’s done it with J.J. McCarthy. He’s done it with Kirk Cousins. He’s done it with a lot of different players, and his numbers never change.

“I think that’s truly a testament to being the best player on the field. Everybody’s keying on you. Every defense, every coordinator, everybody’s aware of where you are. You’re still able to go out there and make play after play after play. And getting to know him, he lives in Minnesota. I’m a Minnesota guy. He’s so humble; he’s down to earth. He’s engaging. He just stands for all the right things.”
