Before he is Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals‘ Joe Flacco is dad and husband.
Following the 40-year-old’s thrilling battle with 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Thursday Night Football,” Flacco was ready to go home and see his family, sending a heartfelt message postgame.
“I can’t wait to talk to my wife tonight and just hear it in her voice,” he said.
“When I talk to my family and we’re laughing about this, that’ll be a reminder,” he added. “My wife has been doing this with me for so long now. My wife and my siblings and my dad and my mom, we’re all still so invested in this. One of their biggest emotions is probably relief, like oh my gosh the game’s over and we don’t have to watch that anymore and hang on to the edge of our seat.”
Joe Flacco Send Heartfelt Message to Children
Flacco was also asked what message he’d want to send to his five children following Thursday’s 33-31 victory.
“One of the biggest things is hopefully they’d be willing to take on challenges,” he said. “And you can’t worry about the outcome. I see myself as a competitor, I see myself as a football player, that’s what I do. … No hesitation let’s go do this.
“So whatever you see yourself as, there’s a reason for that and you shouldn’t hesitate when something may look a little scary, you should jump in and do it.”

Who is Joe Flacco’s wife?
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Flacco has been married to his wife, Dana, for 14 years. The couple are high school sweethearts, having met at Audubon High School, in their hometown of Audubon, New Jersey.
After their wedding ceremony, the couple rode a trolley with their wedding party around their hometown, stopping to take photos at meaningful locations — including the spot where they first met.
Photos shared by their photographer, according to the New York Post, show the Flaccos outside their old high school, with Joe’s groomsmen lined up in a playful, mock football formation.
Who Are Joe Flacco’s Children?
Dana and Joe have five children: four sons and one daughter.
Their two eldest sons are just 15 months apart. Stephen, the oldest, was born in June 2012, followed by Daniel in September 2013 — just seven months after Joe’s Super Bowl win with the Ravens. Their third son, Francis, arrived in January 2015. The couple then welcomed a daughter, Evelyn, in September 2016, and their youngest, Thomas, was born in April 2018.
Joe Flacco’s Wife Helped Him With Bengals’ Playbook
During an October 10 news conference, just two days after his first practice with the Bengals, Flacco expressed how impressed he was with by his wife’s play-calling rhythm, especially after she quizzed him on the Bengals’ playbook ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
“I’ve never had my wife read stuff out to me, but the other night, sitting in the hotel, I did have her read some of the base game plan to me, and have me repeat it back to her. She didn’t do bad!” he said.
