It was a close game, but in the end, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills weren’t able to pull off a win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, December 28, at home. So, if this game was a preview of what NFL viewers can expect in February, it’s going to be a razor-close game determined by just a few yards or points.
The Philadelphia Eagles held the Eagles off with a 13-12 final score, but they almost didn’t. After a lackluster showing in the first half of the game, the Bills’ offense had energy in the second half and rallied. But, it wasn’t enough, and a last-minute decision made the difference. When the Buffalo Bills scored a potential game-tying touchdown with five seconds left, they decided to go for two, but weren’t able to convert, so the Eagles won.
So, it just wasn’t a great day for the Bills and certainly not how they wanted to end their second-to-last regular season game. Even more concerning was that Allen went into the X-ray room after the game. But, on a brighter note, the franchise announced some special news about Allen, and he hit a milestone during the game.
Josh Allen News From the Buffalo Bills
On Sunday, during the Bills’ game against the Eagles, Buffalo made the historic announcement that Allen recorded his 300th career touchdown.
“Josh Allen records his 300th career total touchdown, becoming the fastest player in NFL history to reach the mark (127 games),” the Buffalo Bills announced on social media. The news was met with mixed reviews, since the Bills didn’t win the game. But, it’s still notable. “I promise you, we do not care,” one commenter said on X. “A win would be great,” another added.
The news comes amid another injury scare for Allen. Following the win, ESPN Buffalo Bills reporter Alaina Getzenberg reported that Allen “just limped into the X-ray room with head athletic trainer Nate Breske” but quickly exited with “nothing new on his foot.”
So, thankfully, it appears to be fine. Getzenberg also reported that after the game, when asked how much his foot injury impacted him, he said, “zero.”
