Bills Get Bad News on Dalton Kincaid During Dolphins Game

The Buffalo Bills felt confident after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 28-21 last week. Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who made NFL history during the victory, was proud of his team.

“They’re the pinnacle of what you want your franchise to be,” he told reporters of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. “They’ve been that for the last eight years. Any time you get a chance to play the best and you can come away with a victory, you’re going to be feeling pretty good.”

Heading into Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins, the Bills were deemed heavy favorites to walk away with another victory. Buffalo has won their past seven consecutive games against Miami. However, the Bills struggled early and often against the Dolphins.

Down 16-0 in the third quarter, things continued to unravel when Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid exited the game with a hamstring injury. Kincaid, Allen’s top target, entered Week 10 leading the team in receiving yards (411), receiving touchdowns (4) and 20-plus yard receptions (9).

While at first it seemed like Kincaid could shake off the injury and get back in the game, the Bills got bad news before the fourth quarter started.

The Bills Officially Ruled Dalton Kincaid Out for the Remainder of the Game

The Bills announced on X that Kindcaid was “downgraded to OUT,” which is obviously a huge blow to Buffalo’s offense. 13WHAM’s Dan Fetes noted before the tight end headed to the locker room, “Kincaid in obvious pain as he sits on the bench. He’s talking to trainers and pointing to his right hamstring.”

Kincaid exited the Bills-Dolphins game leading all of Buffalo’s receivers with 37 yards on two catches. With Kincaid out, Allen’s lack of a true No. 1 wide receiver became a glaring issue.

Even more concerning, the Bills 2023 first-round pick dealt with a knee injury last season, as well. After a stellar rookie year, recording the second-highest number of catches and yards by any rookie in franchise history, his stats dipped in 2024. Last season, he registered just 44 receptions for 448 yards and two touchdowns.

With Kincaid out, the Bills need veteran tight end Dawson Knox to step up. Knox entered Week 10 with 118 total receiving yards and one touchdown on nine catches.

Bills QB Josh Allen Called Dalton Kincaid an ‘Absolute Stud’ As He Was ‘Getting Healthier’ Last Week

Against the Chiefs, Kincaid played 23 of 66 possible offensive snaps, recording six catches for a game-high 101 receiving yards.

“He’s an absolute stud. He continues to get better and better, and I feel like each week, he’s getting better,” Allen told reporters of Kincaid after the game. “And he’s getting healthier, which is awesome. So, it kind of shows you the type of player that he is and can be.

“He’s going to continue to progress, and, you know, my relationship and my trust in him is only going to continue to grow.”
