Bills’ Josh Allen Issues Wake-Up Call After Week 5 Loss

The Buffalo Bills reminded everyone that they’re not invincible last week, suffering a 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots onSunday Night Football.

While New England is undoubtedly a rising contender, the Bills—who have their eyes set on the Super Bowl—should have handled this matchup at home.

Josh Allen Thinks the Bills Needed a Wake-Up Call

Bills quarterback Josh Allen wasn’t happy with the team’s performance and called it a wake-up call.

“I think it’s a wake-up call,Allen said Thursday, via Jenna Cottrell. We had been getting by previous games maybe not playing our best football. Each and ever week has to got to be earned and that starts in practice.”

The Bills not only lost to the Patriots but also struggled with ball control. Buffalo committed three turnovers, with Allen responsible for two: throwing an interception and fumbling the ball.

Allen called the team’s mistakes sloppy after the loss on Sunday.

“We just played sloppy,Allen said. Not going to win a football game turning the ball over three times in our red zone. Gave them one in their red zone. That’s just bad football, and we just did not play good tonight.”

Despite starting the season with a solid 4-0 record before last week’s loss, the Bills appeared to be going through the motions during their games. In Week 1, the Bills found themselves trailing the Baltimore Ravens by 15 points at the beginning of the fourth quarter but managed to pull off a miraculous comeback. However, they struggled against one-win teams like the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints in Weeks 3 and 4.

Buffalo can expect to face every team’s best effort this season, as many consider them the team to beat in the AFC, especially given the early struggles of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Ravens. They need to prepare better for this challenge.

The Bills Have to Watch Out For New England Moving Forward

The Patriots stepped into Orchard Park on Sunday with a point to prove, led by their young quarterback Drake Maye and new head coach Mike Vrabel. They certainly delivered on that promise.

New England has dominated the AFC East for two decades, especially with quarterback Tom Brady leading the team. However, the Bills have claimed the crown for the last five seasons, which has likely ruffled some feathers in New England. The Patriots are eager to prove they’re still a force in the division.

Buffalo will face New England again on Dec. 14, and winning this game is crucial if it wants to secure the division title. Although the Patriots have two losses, they benefit from one of the easiest schedules remaining, as they will play nine teams that currently have two or fewer wins.

Before the Bills can focus on taking down the Patriots, they need to approach one week at a time and work on getting past a solid Atlanta Falcons team that is well-rested after a bye week.
