The Buffalo Bills could use some help in their wide receiving corps, but two top potential trade deadline targets appear to be heading off the market.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that the New Orleans Saints are working on an extension for receiver Chris Olave and the Philadelphia Eagles have no plans to move A.J. Brown. Both had been named as potential targets for a Bills team in need of a top pass-catcher, but one insider believes the Bills can move on to another veteran target.
Bills Could Make a Run at Calvin Ridley
SI.com’s Owen Klein outlined the top remaining trade targets for the Bills ahead of the Nov. 4 deadline, putting Tennessee Titans veteran receiver Calvin Ridley at the top of the list. The 30-year-old remains a productive receiver, having topped 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons and notched more than 5,600 yards in his career.
The Bills have not had a 1,000-yard receiver since trading Stefon Diggs in March 2024, with their “everybody eats” approach reaching some limitations as quarterback Josh Allen has struggled to find open receivers at times.
Klein wrote that Ridley could be a good addition for a Bills team that has struggled to stretch opposing defenses.
“Ridley still hasn’t been able to realize the air yards he has gotten,” Klein wrote. “He led the league in air yards in 2025, and with Cam Ward’s horrendous blocking, he hasn’t gotten many opportunities to catch deep balls.”
Klein added that Ridley could come to the Bills as a one-year rental, similar to their move at last year’s trade deadline to add Amari Cooper.
“Tight end Dalton Kincaid leads the Bills with 287 receiving yards, speaking to the need for a receiver,” Klein wrote. “There’s also an out of Ridley’s four-year, $92 million contract after 2025, so if he doesn’t end up working out, Buffalo can get rid of him.”
Benjamin David De Cristofaro of USA Today’s Bills Wire added that the Titans could be a willing trade partner, along with the struggling Las Vegas Raiders.
“The Raiders are open to moving Jakobi Meyers, and the Titans are reportedly open for business on every player on the roster, not names Cam Ward or Jeffery Simmons, which means receivers like Calvin Ridley and Tyler Lockett could be in play,” De Cristofaro wrote.
Bills Could Address Other Side of the Ball
While many insiders expect the Bills to look for help in the wide receiving corps, the team also has some holes in the defense that the front office could address at the trade deadline. The team has been hit hard by injuries in the secondary, losing rookie cornerbacks Maxwell Hairston and Dorian Strong and reserve safety Damar Hamlin, all of them landing on injured reserve.
ESPN analyst Benjamin Solak suggested the Bills could take a swing at Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, who was a healthy scratch in this week’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“Cam Taylor-Britt is player 1.01 on the ‘just needs a new start’ big board,” Solak shared in a post on X. “Splashy, talented corner who has dealt with miscast roles, penalties, confidence issues. Plenty of teams (Eagles, Rams, Bills, Giants, Bears) should take a swing.”
