Bills QB Shuts Down Josh Allen, Hailee Steinfeld Rumor [Exclusive]

After a dominant win over the Carolina Panthers, the Buffalo Bills feel confident heading into their matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Nov. 2.

In an exclusive interview with Heavy Sports, Bills backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky admitted they needed that win. “We kind of had a bad taste in our mouth the last couple weeks, knowing that we could play better,” Trubisky said of the team’s two consecutive losses before the bye.

“We just went back to work throughout the week, corrected our mistakes. Everyone stuck together and we were able to pull out a big victory. It was just kind of business as normal, but it did really kind of get things back in the right direction, get that vibe back going.”

Bills starting quarterback Josh Allen made NFL history against the Panthers, breaking the record for the most NFL games (46) with at least one rushing and one passing touchdown.

Trubisky, who stars in Progressive’s ‘The Backup’ campaign, is more than just a reliable backup for Allen. He’s also close friends with the Bills star off the field. The 31-year-old veteran attended Allen’s star-studded wedding to actress Hailee Steinfeld in May. However, for anyone who thinks Allen is somehow less committed to the game since tying the knot, Trubisky set the record straight.

Mitch Trubisky Says Josh Allen Is Even More Focused After Marrying Hailee Steinfeld

Some fans started to doubt Allen’s headspace after revealing a life lesson Steinfeld taught him. “Maybe I am more than a football player,” he told ESPN’s Marty Smith last month.

One man commented, “As soon as dudes start talking like this they lost their hunger for the game he’ll never win a ring.” Another person posted, “The Bills window is officially closed. Hailee is a great actress, Josh is a phenomenal QB and they seem incredible together. If you’re over football then football is over you. Just the way it goes.”

However, this narrative couldn’t be further from the truth. “His focus on the game and his work ethic is even more heightened since [getting married],” Trubisky said. “I mean, even last time I was here in ’21 and even to last year, we are locked in and focused and on a mission.

“Being married and having a son, being a father and a husband, it’s one of the biggest blessings.” The former No. 2 overall pick speaks from experience as he shares a three-year-old son, Hudson, with his wife, Hillary Trubisky.

“I think wanting to succeed in your profession, being able to provide, and do the best you possibly can to set an example for your son and your family, it just motivates you even more.

“That’s kind of the mission that we’re on right now — to bring that life perspective into the workplace, try to be a joy, a great teammate, and really try to be great in every facet of your life, not just football… So I think it’s just being well-rounded, and I think those life experiences help you do that.”

Josh Allen, Hailee Steinfeld Share a Weekly Dinner Tradition With the Bills QBs And Their Wives

Steinfeld is also locked in on the Bills winning a Super Bowl. In an interview last month, the 28-year-old revealed she tries to schedule her busy career around the NFL season.

“I try to organize my time so I can be where he is,” the Oscar-nominated actress told Variety. “This time of year, I get to hunker down, slow down, support him, and live life.”

While Allen previously told me about his pre-game date night tradition with Steinfeld, he also shares a weekly dinner ritual with his fellow quarterbacks that includes their respective wives. Trubisky called it his “favorite tradition [that] we do every Friday.”

In addition to Steinfeld and Trubisky’s wife, Shane Buechele and his wife Paige Buechele, attend the dinner, along with offensive coordinator Joe Brady, quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry, and their respective partners.

“We’re able to break bread, spend some time together outside of football, continually get to know each other and just build that trust and camaraderie. No matter what we go through throughout the season, I think we always know that we have each other’s back,” Trubisky said. “The relationships here go beyond the football field and it’s something that’s really special.

“I think it helps when you face adversity throughout the season, you know you have people that you can truly count on.”
