Bills Rank Outside The Top 3 in NFL Week 1 Power Rankings

Football is finally back, and the Buffalo Bills are looking to get back to their first Super Bowl since 1994. Buffalo has the squad to reach the big game with MVP quarterback Josh Allen, Pro Bowl running back James Cook, and superstar left tackle Dion Dawkins.

The Bills should have one of the best teams in the AFC this season, right up there with the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. It’s hard to tell which team out of the three is the best in the AFC, but Cody Williams from Fansided doesn’t think it’s the Bills. On September 1st, Williams released his Week 1 NFL power ratings, and has Buffalo at No. 5 overall and No. 3 in the AFC.

“Josh Allen and the Bills have been a bankable commodity for years at this point, and that’s not going to stop. Yes, the offense on paper might not look like a world-beater by any stretch of the imagination, but that was the case last year and Allen delivered an MVP-caliber performance to prove that it’s just going to keep rolling. I’m not the biggest fan of the overall defensive personnel, but Sean McDermott has continued to make do there as well. The AFC East still runs through Buffalo. However, the defense could determine whether or not the AFC as a whole is in the same spot or not,” Williams wrote.

Bills Ranked No.5 Behind Teams on Their Level

The four teams ahead of Buffalo are the No. 1 Philadelphia Eagles, who won the Super Bowl last season, beating the Chiefs 40-22. No.2 is Kansas City with two time league MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Patrick Mahomes .

Coming in at No. 3 is the Ravens with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has won two NFL MVPs and finished runner-up to Josh Allen last season. No. 4 is the Green Bay Packers after trading for the Dallas Cowboys’ four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Micah Parsons.

Buffalo being ranked as the fifth team is a shocker. It’s understandable for them to be behind the Eagles, Chiefs, and even the Ravens, but they should be no worse than fourth.

Being behind the Chiefs is understandable since the team returns most of its roster and has taken down the Bills four times over the last five postseasons.

Ravens Picked to Win Super Bowl by NFL Legend

There could be an argument with the Bills being ranked behind the Ravens. As Buffalo  did knock them off in last year’s divisional round.

A lot of praise is going around for how great the Ravens roster is this season. Adding Georgia’s All-American safety Malaki Starks in the first round of the draft.

The Ravens are heading into their second season with veteran running back Derrick Henry. The 31-year-old running back rushed for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. Baltimore’s offense and defense should be able to give opposing teams nightmares throughout the entire season.

Baltimore is supposed to be good that four-time Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl-winning quarterback Terry Bradshaw picked them to win the Super Bowl.

“I think Baltimore is going to get over the hump this year,” Bradshaw told Newsweek in a YouTube interview. “I’m pulling for Pittsburgh, always will. I don’t think they’re ready yet.”

Buffalo can quickly show they are a better team than the Ravens, since they do play them on Sunday Night Football in Week 1. The first game of the season doesn’t prove a team’s better since there’s a long way to go. However, it could be a step in the right direction for the Bills, who aim to build towards their ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl.
