Bills Share Massive Injury List On Short Week, Shakir and Kincaid DNP

The Buffalo Bills were able to right the ship this Sunday with a massive home win over the first-place Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now sitting at 7-3, they will make a road trip down south to take on the Houston Texans on “Thursday Night Football.”

They might be doing so short-handed, as today’s injury report was a doozy for Buffalo.

“Hardman, Kincaid, Samuel all not looking good for Thursday night,” writes Bills radio personality Chris Brown on X. “Shakir misses again for a personal matter. A lot of limited participants on this short week. #Bills”

Mecole Hardman, Dalton Kincaid, Curtis Samuel, and Khalil Shakir all have not participated in a single practice this week.

While Shakir has been absent for “personal reasons,” the other three members of Josh Allen’s pass-catching personnel seem to be trending towards not making the trip to Texas.

Ten Receivers Targeted Last Week

If I asked you two weeks ago who would lead the Bills in receiving against the Buccaneers, it might take you seven guesses to get to Tyrell Shavers. However, Shavers’ 43-yard touchdown put an exclamation mark on a four-catch, 90-yard game.

He wasn’t the only pass catcher to step up in Kincaid’s absence. It was wide receiver by committee for Buffalo, who saw ten receivers targeted, nine of whom hauled in a pass.

James Cook and Ty Johnson finished with the second and third most yards. Kincaid’s counterpart, Dawson Knox, only caught one ball on the afternoon but took it for a lofty 23-yard gain.

Second-year receiver Keon Coleman was on the losing end of a viral coaching decision that saw him scratched from the contest, but Buffalo royalty Gabe Davis took advantage of his opportunity, hauling in three of four targets for 40 yards.

Curtis Samuel and Joshua Palmer each caught a pair, and even rookie Keleki Latu got in on the action.

Shakir had an uncharacteristically quiet game, as he only caught one ball for a loss of three yards, but even that one catch was more than Mecole Hardman could muster, as he posted a goose egg.

Don’t Count On Dalton Kincaid

Kincaid exited Week 10’s game against the Miami Dolphins early. He was ruled out well before Sunday’s contest, and now he remains with an injury designation.

He didn’t practice a single time last week and has not stepped on the turf yet this week either. His chances to play feel very slim.

“Head coach Sean McDermott labeled Kincaid as week to week, which only adds to the pessimism surrounding his status, especially on a short week,” writes Mike Moraitis on TSN. “We’ll see if Kincaid can get back to practice on Tuesday, but the final determination for his status for Week 12 will be made on Wednesday, when the Bills drop their last injury report of the week.”
