Bills Sign Former Rivals’ 3x Super Bowl Champion Pass Catcher

The Buffalo Bills failed to address the wide receiver position at the NFL trade deadline. Many fans have pointed to a lack of production from the wideout position as a reason why the Super Bowl hopefuls have dropped three games this season, including a humiliating 13-30 road loss this Sunday that gave their division rival, the Miami Dolphins, their third win of the season.

In order to address this shortcoming, the team announced Monday that they would be signing former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

“Bills are signing wide receiver Mecole Hardman to the practice squad, per source,” ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler announced in an X post.

Hardman has bounced around, doing a stint with the New York Jets before returning to Kansas City and eventually ending up on the Green Bay Packers.

Now he will try his luck in Buffalo.

Mecole Hardman Is A Former Bills Killer

Bills fans know Mecole Hardman all too well. Although the veteran receiver is just 27 years old, he has been a member of three of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl rosters.

Not only was he a member of both the 2020 and 2021 Chiefs teams that eliminated Buffalo in the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, but he also scored a touchdown in both of those narrow defeats.

In 2020, the then-second-year receiver ripped off a fifty-yard rush in the Chiefs’ AFC Divisional victory. In that same game, he hauled in a pass at the goal line for six.

The very next season, Hardman had one reception for 26 yards in what became one of the greatest football games ever played. He also recorded two carries for 31 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown run that helped the Chiefs secure a 42-36 overtime victory in the divisional round.
