Bills Veteran Tre’Davious White Winning Position Battle At Camp, ‘Greatest Comeback In Buffalo Bills History’

The Buffalo Bills made fans happy this offseason when the team announced it would be reuniting with two time All-Pro defensive back Tre’Davious White.

White will be entering his tenth NFL season, the first seven of which were spent up in Orchard Park. Injuries have completely derailed what was a very promising NFL career, as he appeared in just ten games combined in his final two seasons with the Bills.

Last season, he played four games with the Los Angeles Rams and seven games with the Baltimore Ravens before ultimately finding his way back to Buffalo.

Now in week one of training camp, the fiery corner is said to be making a push for a starting role. FanSided writer Joe Cook is trying not to let himself get swept away in the excitement, but White’s surge at practice is leaving him to ask the big questions.

“Are we really set to experience the comeback of one of the greatest cornerbacks in Buffalo Bills history?” Cook asks Bills fans. “That vivid memory of Tre White that all fans hung on to, might actually become reality once again.”

Tre White Winning Position Battle

After what has been three stellar days of practice, White has earned a majority of the first team reps so far in camp.

When rookie Maxwell Hairston was drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, it appeared as though he would be coming in to assume a starting role. Losing Rasul Douglas meant that there was a position opening opposite of Christian Benford.

Now it’s a clear two horse race between the proven vet and the exciting rookie. Cook tells us that all reports coming out of camp say White is winning that race.

“White has also been getting the lion’s share of snaps at cornerback two during practice,” Cook writes. “White has been amped at every practice, playing every snap and drill extremely hard and with a lot of emotion. It is clear what this means to the former 27th overall selection of the 2017 Draft. Back in his home, to resurrect his career and help finish what he started in Buffalo.”

Tre White Fired Up Press Conference

Unfortunately for sports fans and athletes everywhere, we have all become to aware of the Achilles injury that ended Tre White’s tenure with Buffalo. An injury that has seemingly been occurring more and more, it has become obvious that the recovery process following that sort of trauma falls into more of a two year time frame.

Now, with a full offseason of true NFL training (rather than injury recovery), White is absolutely fired up for a chance to show fans what he’s done.

“I feel like my work speaks for itself,” White told the press. “I work extremely [expletive] hard, and a lot of people can see it. You can see it in my burst, the way I’m transitioning out of my breaks, the power, the way my body looks, how I feel in the morning. I put a lot of [expletive] hard work in. It’s not gonna be a surprise to me or nobody that’s seen my work. I pride myself on putting my best foot forward. I know what type of player, so the injuries kind of slowed it up, but that’s behind me now. I’m moving forward. It’s gonna be a great [expletive] season.”
