By now, the people of the world â including Kansas City Chiefs fans â have seen plenty of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. The pop mega-star even joked about it during her appearance on Kelce’s New Heights podcast last week, quipping, âI think we all know that if thereâs one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, itâs more of me.â
The couple are coming up on the two-year anniversary of their dating relationship â Swift went public with the information in September, 2023 â and in that time they have become if not the most widely covered celebrity power couple on the planet, then certainly in the top few.
Still New Sides to Couple to be Seen
What else is there to see or know about the Chiefs’ 13-year-veteran tight end and the billionaire singer and media mogul whose career started 20 years ago, at the age of 15, when she signed a music publishing deal with Sony/ATV?
Apparently there are still sides to the couple that have not yet been exposed to the general public. And perhaps that’s why a hilariously weird video outtake from the August 13 podcast hosted by Kelce and his older brother, Jason Kelce, a retired six-time All-Pro center who spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, went viral this week.
Weird Vocal Warm Ups
The brief video clip, which has accumulated more than 990,000 views on X (formerly Twitter) in two days, shows the Kelce brothers doing what they seem to believe are appropriate vocal warm-up exercises as they prepare for what turned out to be a 123-minute podcast.
In the video, Jason Kelce intones the phrase “ow now brown cow!” Travis responds with his own supposed warm up, pronouncing the words, “unique New York.”
Swift Gets Vocal Warm Ups Right
Whether repeating those phrases serve as an effective vocal cord warm-up is unclear. But in the video, Swift is seen performing a more widely accepted type of warm up used by many professional singers.
The technique is called “lip trills” and basically consists of gently blowing breath through the lips while practicing rising and falling vocal sounds.
âSee now thatâs theâ¦â Kelce begins to say, as his world famous girlfriend performs her routine vocal warm up exercise. Then the 34-year-old shouts, âIâM REALLY EXICTED!â
The video also appeared on the New Heights Instagram account, where it had received more than 94,000 “likes” as of Friday morning.
Podcast Now Tops 20 Million Views on One Platform
The podcast, which Swift used to announce her upcoming 12th studio album, to be titled Life of a Showgirl, itself went viral, with 20.4 million views on YouTube alone since it first streamed nine days ago.
The podcast seems to have marked an inflection point of sorts in the relationship between the two stars. According to a report published by US Magazine on August 20, one week after the podcast debuted, the couple are now looking at taking the ultimate step in their romance.
“Swift and Kelce are ‘on the same page’ when it comes to settling down,” according to the US report, citing an unnamed source. “‘They want to be married and have kids in the future,’ notes the source. ‘Theyâre both genuinely ready for that chapter.’”
But first for Kelce, it’s off to Brazil where the Chiefs open their season against the Los Angeles Chargers in the second annual NFL São Paulo Game on September 5. That game will also be streamed exclusively on YouTube.
Whether Swift will accompany him to São Paulo for the game remains unclear.
