Breece Hall Angrily Goes After Jets Reporter After Justin Fields Incident

This week, the New York Jets benched Justin Fields as their starting quarterback.

Throughout the week, the media attempted to speak with Fields about his benching, but he was unavailable. On Friday, November 21, Brian Costello of the New York Post approached Fields at his locker to get a quote. Fields responded that he was going to get a massage and didn’t have time to talk.

Coz asked for his reaction to being sent to the bench, and Fields responded, “There’s no reaction. That’s life. [Expletive] happens.”

Breece Hall responded to this story on social media by saying, “Pathetic move by you tbh. Wish some of yall would grow up and stop acting like little kids nagging somebody till they get mad lol.”

Hall also reposted a response from a fan on his timeline that read, “NY media be like a 4 yr old kid asking ‘why, why, why, why.’”

Coz Catches Social Media Heat for His Interaction With Fields

“Consider the Athletes point of view. He’s being baited to make a controversial statement by a journalist. And once the story comes out he has to deal with the consequences from his teammates and management,” Richard Griffing posted.

“Why do yall NEED to have a reaction to everything? I get why [Aaron] Glenn battles the media, cause yall gotta make drama out of everything,” Tyler Moore said.

“Good job tracking this down, Coz. Very important journalism being done here,” a fan responded sarcastically.

“Why you trying to provoke him into a story? Bush league [expletive] man. Guy has been nothing but humble throughout this entire thing and you all want to hit him with a sledgehammer the entire way,” another fan said.

“What other response were you trying to draw out of him? Dude lost his starting job, stressed out, feeling defeated. And you want to hound him for a response to clip? You’re corny as hell,” a fan bluntly said.

“Beat reporters are such trash. What did you want there? A full on crashout? Leave the guy alone,” a social media user stated.

The Fields Experiment for the Jets Was a Big Failure

Gang Green inked Fields to a two-year $40 million contract this past offseason. That deal included $30 million guaranteed.

The Jets signed him with the hopes that he could become the latest former first-round QB to have a career renaissance in a new location. It didn’t work out.

Fields is most likely going to be cut this offseason by the green and white. The Jets will once again be looking for a new QB1.

However, the revisionist history must come to an end. Fields didn’t work out with the Jets; that much is clear, but that doesn’t mean the team made the wrong decision in the offseason.

Fields was the best quarterback the team could have hoped to sign—a 26-year-old with immense potential on a team that needed someone to step up. The other top-flight options were unlikely to take their talents to New York: Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold.

Darnold flopped during his first stint with the Jets, and this time had options. Jones failed with the other New York team and probably had no desire to return to that market.
