The Denver Broncos were among the many teams around the NFL that kicked the tires on some of the wide receivers who were available before the trade deadline. They came up empty, but the Broncos could still be in luck after the latest news on Odell Beckham Jr.
A former first-round draft pick with the New York Giants and a Super Bowl champion with the Los Angeles Rams, he has also played for the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.
Beckham is also a three-time Pro Bowler and was the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year.

CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani suggested Beckham for the Broncos, who rank 17th in scoring offense and 13th overall while on their bye in Week 12. Dajani wrote on November 18 that Denver “could use some help at receiver.”
This is despite “great games” from second-year wideout Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ultimately, it comes down to helping Bo Nix.
“Denver’s inconsistencies on offense this season are well documented,” Dajani wrote, making his argument. “Beckham isn’t an addition that automatically makes the Broncos a top 10 passing offense, but he could be a reliable target for Bo Nix.”
Beckham has 575 career receptions, 7,987 yards, and 59 touchdowns in his career. However, he is a long way from being the dynamic player that he was at his peak with the Giants.
He had a 9-55-0 line with the Miami Dolphins in 2024.
Odell Beckham Gets Honest About Suspension

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on November 18 that “Three-time Pro Bowl WR Odell Beckham Jr. was officially reinstated by the commissioner today. He remains a free agent.”
Beckham, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2014 draft, broke the news of his suspension, saying it was due to elevated testosterone levels, which he said were the result of him treating previously low levels. Beckham said he requested an exemption and was denied by the NFL.
He also rejected the NFL’s findings and lack of attempts to confirm their results.
Still, Beckham asserted that he can still perform. He simply needs an opportunity to show what he can do after squandering his last one with Miami due to his role and the suspension.
“It bothers me, because knowing deep down inside, I never failed. I’ve never cheated. I’ve never done something. I’m like, bro, I came back from ACL, shattered ankle, ACL again. Like, why wouldn’t those have been the times that I would have been taking something to benefit myself? I’ve always been this person who just I worked hard,” Beckham said on “The Pivot” in October.
“Everyone [said], ‘The high school he went to…’ [or] ‘His mom….’ No, bruh. I earned all of this.”
Broncos Have Options

Beckham, a two-time Second Team All-Pro, would not be a savior for the Broncos. They would still lean on Courtland Sutton as the top option in the passing game.
Franklin and Bryant are both inexperienced, but have certainly flashed this season. The Broncos also have Evan Engram, who is a tight end but operates like a slot receiver. They could turn to former New Orleans Saints star Brandin Cooks.
He has a history with Broncos head coach Sean Payton.
None of that precludes them from kicking the tires on Beckham, who said he is ready to accept any role and has no preconceived notions about how many targets he should get.
