The Denver Broncos got a scare on Thursday when All-Pro left tackle, Garrett Bolles, left practice after an asthma issue forced him off.
The medical situation never got dire, dire, but according to reporter, Will Peterson there was an ambulance involved at the scene.
Saw Garett Bolles struggling on the sideline with a couple of trainers. Looked to be uncomfortable and in significant pain. Heâs since gotten in an ambulance, but itâs still at the facility.

Bolles then came out of the ambulance after half an hour, per Peterson, alongside Broncos medical staff.
Bolles is out of the ambulance after about 30 minutes. Walked to the facility on his own, accompanied by Broncos trainers. Definitely a positive update overall. Weâll see what Sean Payton says about it.

However, it was still not clear what the prognosis was for the 33 year old, who has remained very durable for almost his entire career, outside of missing 12 games with a broken leg in 2022.
Garrett Bolles ‘Will Be OK’ After Thursday’s Breathing Issue
In his post-practice press conference with the media, Payton insisted that Bolles will be alright after the conclusion of the incident.

“So, he’s gonna be fine,” Payton said to reporters on Thursday afternoon, “he had some asthma, some breathing, so we just pulled him – he will be OK.”
Whilst it is relieving to hear that Bolles will be fine after suffering what could have been a severe incident, Broncos fans will be very glad that their star LT will not miss time. Particularly at a position at which they can ill afford to be short a man.
Former New York Giant, Matt Peart, was next man up, and whilst he did have his best season yet in 2024 with Denver, managing a 67.4 grade from Pro Football Focus, he is still not truly a starting-caliber offensive tackle.
What Is The State Of Denver’s Offensive Line Heading Into 2025?
Once considered a bust after being taken with the 20th overall pick back in 2017, and failing to live up to expectations over the course of his first three years in the NFL, Bolles had a career year in 2020 – just as his contract was set to expire.
This resulted in him landing a four year, $68 million extension with the Broncos; and subsequent strong years over the past half decade meant the team decided to re-up his deal in December of last year to the tune of another four years for $82 million.
Even outside of Bolles, Denver should have one of the best offensive lines in the league going into next season. Denver conceded the fourth-fewest sacks in 2024, with just 24, despite playing with a rookie QB in Bo Nix.
Guard, Quinn Meinerz was a first team All-Pro last year, whilst fellow linemen Luke Wattenberg, Ben Powers and Mike McGlinchey all did some of the best work of their respective careers this past season.
If everyone can stay healthy, Denver could have one of the strongest O-lines in all of football.
