Browns Fans Make Feelings Clear on Future of Kevin Stefanski After Steelers Loss

It appears Cleveland Browns fans have had enough of Kevin Stefanski as their head coach.

The Browns suffered a 23-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers to fall to 1-5 on the season. The offense failed to score a touchdown, and following the game, Browns fans were calling for Stefanski to be fired.

“First time I am really starting to think the #Browns fire Kevin Stefanski,” a fan wrote on X. “The team is just terribly coached. Bad penalties. Silly mistakes. I defend the guy as much as anyone, and I am not even saying he should be fired, but the vibe is beginning to form.”

“Fire Stefanski. It’s time to go. 60 passes in a game, less than 20 runs with a rookie quarterback. Flacco wasn’t the problem. The problem has the headset on,” another fan added.

Browns fans believe Stefanski has lost control of the locker room, and the team needs to make a move.

“Defending Kevin Stefanski in 2025 is a mental illness. Enough with the excuses. Stefanski should be FIRED today! He doesn’t deserve to be an NFL head coach! Absolutely abysmal,” a fan added.

“I have long been a Stefanski guy, but I think it may be time. He’s just not helping at all with his scheme and play calling. Everything looks the same and the NFL has figured him out. I think it’s time to move on,” another fan added.

“Kevin Stefanski’s offense has shown us nothing. It gets worse every week. Defending him now is pure delusion. Andrew Berry separated himself with this draft class. He’s safe. Time to find your next head coach,” a fan wrote.

It’s clear Browns fans want Stefanski fired, while some believe general manager Andrew Berry should remain.

Stefanski Could Make Major Change

Following Cleveland’s blowout loss to the Steelers, Stefanski revealed he’s considering a major change.

Stefanski has been calling offensive plays, but the coach said he’s considering having someone else call the plays.

“Stefanski said ‘there’s a long list of things we gotta do better’ in an answer that included potentially changing play-callers,” Zac Jackson of The Athletic reported via X.

If Stefanski does give up play-calling duties, offensive coordinator Tommy Rees would likely take over. Rees spent last season as Cleveland’s Pass game specialist and tight ends coach after he was the Alabama Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator in 2023.

Browns Coach Focused on Keeping Dillon Gabriel Clean

Cleveland’s offense struggled in Week 6 as the Browns failed to score a touchdown.

Following the loss, Stefanski believes an emphasis has to be put on creating a clean pocket for Gabriel.

“He’s a tough kid. We’ve got to keep him clean,” Stefanski said post-game. “Obviously, when the game turns into how it turned a two-score game, you have to drop back, and that’s a tough team to drop back versus,” Stefanski said. “He kept battling. Wasn’t for a lack of effort by him or by anybody. Made some plays, but we just got to be better. I think you learn in every game, win, lose or draw. And obviously, we know this kid’s tough. We know he’s tough. He’s going to keep fighting. We just got to around him, make some plays. We got to coach him up.”

Gabriel finished the game going 29-for-52 for 221 yards.
