Browns’ Jerry Jeudy Sends Strong Message to Shedeur Sanders After 3-INT Game

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy sent a clear message on quarterback Shedeur Sanders following his rough outing against the Chicago Bears.

Jeudy and Sanders haven’t exactly enjoyed a smooth partnership in Cleveland. Sanders is the third starting quarterback Jeudy has caught passes from this season, and the Browns’ top wideout has shown visible frustration in recent weeks — including a sideline exchange between the two during Sanders’ second career start.

That tension has been fueled in part by Jeudy’s lack of production. After earning Pro Bowl honors a year ago, he has yet to come close to that level in 2025, totaling just 40 receptions for 519 yards and two touchdowns.

However, Jeudy backed his quarterback after he threw three interceptions in a blowout loss to the Bears.

“Just tell him one game don’t define who you are, it’s part of football,” Jeudy said. “Don’t let that dictate how you come out here and practice and trying to get better each and every week. Just keep being who you are and just stay focused and keep the main thing the main thing, for real.”

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Still Building Chemistry With Jerry Jeudy

Sanders is heading into just his fifth career start and is still working to make up ground when it comes to chemistry with the Browns’ starting offense. Before taking over in relief of Dillon Gabriel in Week 11, the rookie received no first-team reps with Jeudy or the rest of the starting unit, forcing that connection to develop on the fly.

Sanders has said building trust with his pass catchers remains an ongoing process.

“It’s always going to be a work in progress,” Sanders said. “All relationships ain’t always the best, but you still stick together through everything. So just because when we’re well-connected and the next week we are a bit off, it don’t mean that we didn’t have progress. It’s a lot of things in that game that there’s positive things that we could take from that. When it comes to trust, when it comes to different things, learning, learning abilities and just different things that different tasks take forward when the game happens. Every moment, everything is extremely important on building our connection.”

Shedeur Sanders Bringing New Spark to Browns’ Offense

Sanders and the Browns offense sputtered against the Bears. But in the week prior, Sanders accounted for four total touchdowns and passed for over 300 yards. Even against Chicago, Sanders found Isaiah Bond for two deep passes in the frigid weather.

Jeudy said that element of Sanders’ game is something they can build on.

“It opens up the offense a lot more just having defenders not sitting on our route and not really understanding and not really trying to stop the underneath,” Jeudy said. “They have to worry about the deep balls now. You’ve just got to keep hitting on that and keep getting better at that.”

Sanders, Jeudy and the Browns will look to get back on track as they host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
