Browns Make Historic Quinshon Judkins Announcement After 3-TD Game

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins earned his place in the history books after a dominant performance during a 31-6 win against the Miami Dolphins.

Judkins rumbled for 84 yards and three touchdowns against the Dolphins, serving as the engine for the Browns’ offense. Two of those touchdowns came on wildcat runs inside the 10-yard line, with Judkins taking the direct snap.

The Browns recognized Judkins’ performance after the win on social media, recognizing the history he made. He became the first Browns running back to score three touchdowns in a game since 2022. Judkins became the first Browns rookie to score three rushing touchdowns since 2000.

“Making his mark in the record books,” the post read.

There were calls from Myles Garrett and others for the Browns to give Judkins a larger workload. He notched a career-high 25 carries against the Dolphins, including a 46-yard scamper in the first half.

Browns RB Quinshon Judkins Loves Wildcat Role

The Browns cut out the middleman in the red zone. In sloppy conditions, Judkins took direct snaps and it worked effectively against the Dolphins’ defense.

“Yeah, something that I ran in college, so I’m familiar with it,” Judkins said. “A lot of wildcat in Ole Miss’s offense. So when coach (Tommy) Rees and coach Duce (Staley) told me that we’ll be putting it in, I had a smile on my face. Just to go out there and like I said, do my job, execute, get a touchdown. So it’s fun.”

Judkins did not have a typical start to his NFL career. An off-field domestic violence incident led to him missing all of training camp and the preseason. But Judkins is a quick study and has now become a key piece of the Browns’ offense.

“I think that it shows with my preparation,” Judkins said. “I would say just building that trust with my coaches, knowing that I would do the right thing, and just going out there executing, knowing that it also put me in the best position to do that.”

Judkins made sure to credit his offensive line after his big day.

“I think as a team, collectively, it feels good to get a win, especially at home,” Judkins said. “I think our O-line did an exceptional job getting to the next level in terms of blocks and just going out there and executing. So big ups to them and the entire coaches for helping execute.”

Browns Defense Takes ‘Donations’ From Dolphins

The ground game was big, but the defense was dominant. The Browns forced four turnovers — three interceptions and a fumble on special teams.

“They were giving out donations, and everybody was getting in on them,” Browns safety Grant Delpit said.

The Dolphins were held to 219 total yards, with a chunk of those coming with the game out of hand. Cleveland took any hope away from the Dolphins on the first play out of the half, with cornerback Tyson Campbell picking off Tua Tagovailoa and returning it for a touchdown.

The Browns will look to keep their momentum rolling as they head to New England next week to take on the 5-2 Patriots.
