Browns’ Myles Garrett Sends Heartfelt Message on Quinshon Judkins’ Gruesome Injury

Sunday was not the day for Browns star Myles Garrett, as he nearly put himself in the record books for the most sacks in league history, but missed out when he was credited with only half of a sack, leaving his total at 22.0, still second all-time to Michael Strahan at 22.5. The Browns lost to the Bills in a game in which Cleveland showed promise against a now 11-4 team, but still, it was a disappointing day for the star pass-rusher.

It was a much worse day, of course, for Quinshon Judkins, the rookie running back who made his stamp this year as the team’s future anchor at the position.

Judkins suffered a brutal lower leg injury against Buffalo, going out with a broken fibula and a fractured ankle, an injury that will require between four and five months of rehab before he can get back on the field.

Myles Garrett Was Emotional on Quinshon Judkins Injury

After the game, Garrett was emotional when speaking about the Browns rookie, who had tallied 827 yards and seven touchdowns on the year. He was leading the rookie class in both categories before the injury.

Said Garrett: “Young guy is tough, man. You can tell he loves it, you tell he wants to be great. He’s always coming up to me or some of the other older guys, some of the veterans, and just trying to get a little bit of knowledge here and there. And someone who just has that kind of passion for the game and dog in them who just attacks every single day, I can’t be be more excited to play with someone like that.

“So, I’m praying for his recovery as quick as possible, and he just takes the necessary steps and he’s back on the field as soon as possible, as healthy as possible.”

Browns Offense Needs to Be Better for Myles Garrett’s Defense

Judkins was a second-round pick last year and was the highlight of a rookie class that the Browns hope can bolster their offense going forward–along with the likes of fellow back Dylan Sampson, tight end Harold Fannin, receiver Isaiah Bond and (the jury is still out) quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Garrett needs those rookies to lead the Browns to at least something close to a league-average offense. If they can do that, Myles Garrett’s defense–rated No. 2 in the NFL–should be able to get Cleveland turned around once again.

Quinshon Judkins Injury ‘Hurt’ Shedeur Sanders

It was a tough loss, too, for Sanders, who is in the experimental phase of his apprenticeship as the Browns quarterback. He and Judkins, he said, have become close in what he hopes will be a successful Class of 2025.

“It really hurt that Quinshon went down,” Sanders said. “Me and Quinshon was in the room talking yesterday till like 11-11:30, just like just about life, just about everything. Because of the type of person he is, and I know he been through a lot and just building that bond with the rookie class, like, having that be the new energy, you know, and kind of maintain on track, staying on track with everything.

“So knowing that he went down with that, it was definitely sad.”
