Browns QB Deshaun Watson Drops 1-Word Message

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is soaking in the offseason and newlywed life, sharing footage from his honeymoon in Monaco following his July 3 wedding to longtime girlfriend Jilly Anais.

Watson posted a video Monday on TikTok showing the couple enjoying a luxury yacht experience, with the caption “sailing away.” In the clip, Watson appeared to channel Jordan Belfort from The Wolf of Wall Street.

“Monaco,” Watson captioned the video, in which he and Anis reenact the scene from the 2013 movie.

Watson and Anais announced their engagement in March. Anais has stood by Watson despite his very public off-field issues. Watson missed 11 games in 2022 due to a suspension stemming from more than 20 allegations of sexual assault. He also paid a $5 million fine as part of a settlement for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Anais recently opened up to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit about the wedding.

“ I’m just in this bridal glow,” Anais said before the wedding. “It’s the happiest moment of my life. Every time I think about it, I get chills …  I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and I just can’t wait to marry the love of my life.”

Browns QB Deshaun Watson Recovering From Achilles Injury

Watson appeared to be moving well in the video, showcasing some impressive dance moves. He’s recovering from an Achilles injury that is expected to keep him out most, if not all, of next season.

Watson initially suffered the injury during a Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals last season. He re-injured his Achilles during his recovery, requiring another surgery in January.

Watson has been working hard to return to the field, sharing his progress on social media. He faces an uncertain future but is determined to come back better than ever.

“Everyone is doubting me. Everyone don’t believe in me,” Watson said in a video. “Everyone don’t think I can get back to where I was. But I know, and I believe the work that I put in, that I believe in myself… I know, I’m gonna be way better than before.”

Deshaun Watson’s Future Unlikely With Browns

Watson’s situation in Cleveland remains uncertain. The former Pro Bowler is under contract through the 2026 season thanks to the fully guaranteed $230 million deal he signed following the blockbuster 2022 trade that brought him to the Browns. But after three injury-riddled years and limited on-field production, it’s unlikely he factors into the team’s future at quarterback.

Watson has appeared in just 19 games over three seasons, throwing for 3,365 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. In 2024, he started seven games before the season-ending injury, finishing with 1,148 yards, five touchdowns and three picks. Earlier this offseason, team owner Jimmy Haslam referred to the trade for Watson as a “swing and miss,” acknowledging the disappointment associated with the move.

Cleveland heads into training camp with a crowded four-man quarterback competition featuring veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, along with rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Despite his injury, Watson has been praised for his contributions in the quarterback room. He’ll likely be in Cleveland when the team kicks off training camp later this month.
