Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins clapped back at a fan on social media amid his recent skid.
Judkins has managed just 47 yards rushing over the past two games, averaging less than 2.0 yards per carry. It’s not entirely his fault. The rookie running back is playing behind a patchwork offensive line, and the offense as a whole has struggled to find consistency this season.
Judkins has had a solid rookie year, especially considering he missed all of training camp and the preseason. He’s rushed for 805 yards and seven touchdowns. But the Browns are 3-11 and things have started to unravel for the squad. With the team down, Judkins issued what appeared to be a message of unity.
“The way the internet tries to put us against each other is weird asf, all I gotta say is stay on that side!” Judkins said.
He mostly got positive responses, but one commenter took a shot at Judkins.
“You should get off Twitter and in the film room,” the comment said.
Judkins didn’t take to kindly to that and fired back.
“U should gomd,” Judkins said, meaning get off my (expletive).
Browns Getting Creative With Quinshon Judkins
Shedeur Sanders has brought a new element to the offense at quarterback but he’s still a rookie. For most of the year, teams have been comfortable stacking the box against the Browns, which makes life harder for Judkins.
“We got to be creative in ways to get (Quinshon) going. Like if they’re gonna be heavy in certain areas, we gotta find ways to access the part of the field where they’re not,” Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees said. “He’s created a lot of explosives for us. He’s carrying games for us, so finding ways to continue to have him impact the game.”
Judkins has only rushed for 100-plus yards once this season. The Browns will need him to step it up against the Bills, who boast the second-best pass defense in the NFL.
“It’s kind of been hot and cold for us throughout the year. We got to really rely on that and find ways to get Q going and allow our offense to be complementary,” Rees said. “When you can run the ball well, it really opens up a lot of things. You can stay efficient and it keeps you in better situations on third down. So definitely a huge point of emphasis for us.”
Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Looking to for More Consistency
Sanders has shown he can manufacture a big play. But what he’s focused on is improving his completion percentage and finding more consistency in the passing game.
“I just got to get more completions,” Sanders said. “And even whenever we’re down or anything, I can’t press, you know. I just gotta remain having those mental notes to myself. Just work within the game and just keep just driving the ball, get first downs.”
Sanders is coming off two very different weeks. He accounted for four touchdowns and passed for 364 yards against the Tennessee Titans. Last week, Sanders tossed three interceptions in a blowout loss to the Chicago Bears.
