The Chicago Bulls have lost four games in a row. The last two games have been played without Josh Giddey, which has had a significant impact on the team. However, good news is on the way for Chicago.
Coby White has yet to play a game this season. A calf injury has held him out all year, but the former first-round pick has been making his way back to the court. The Bulls hit the road for a three-game road trip starting on Sunday, and White is expected to play in at least one of the games, per K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network.
White joked that he would like to play all five games in the coming week, but it is not a realistic plan. It is also mentioned that White will be on a minutes restriction as he ramps back up into his normal workload. Despite the minutes restriction, the guard is shooting to play in three of the next five games.
More good news for the Bulls is Giddey, who has missed the last two games, and White both practiced fully on Friday, per Johnson of CHSN.
Having these two return to game action is very important, but the Bulls need to be sure not to rush them back.
Bulls’ Last Four GamesÂ

The losing streak the Bulls are currently on has exposed some holes in their game. Chicago will rely on its ability to score all year, but they have lacked in that area lately. In their last four games, Chicago has scored 115.5 points per game, while shooting 46.5% from the floor.
Defensively, the Bulls have been as bad as any team in the NBA. They are allowing 124.8 points per game, and a 50.4% shooting percentage. Chicago, as mentioned, will rely on their offense to get them through games. However, allowing opponents to score at his pace is not a winning recipe.
Looking at the grand scheme of things, the Bulls’ last four losses have come against teams with a combined record of 33-15. It would have been nice for Chicago to come out on top in at least one of them. However, the losses are not as discouraging as they may seem.
What Giddey and White Bring to the CourtÂ
GettyCoby White and Josh Giddey both practiced fully on Friday.
Not having Giddey means the Bulls do not have someone to command the floor. Slowing it down in the half-court and creating open shots for teammates is an asset Giddey brings to the team. With him out, the offense has suffered. There is no indication of when he will return, but there is a chance he will play on Sunday against the Utah Jazz.
White is a score-first type of guard. He is someone who will take his shots and shoot until he is cold. His aggressiveness on offense can really help the team, but it could mean Chicago sees some bad shots get taken. Nonetheless, White is a career 36.9% shooter from deep. Additionally, he is coming off his first season averaging over 20 points per game.
These two will energize the Bulls on offense. Chicago will have to improve defensively, but getting Giddey and White back on the court is exactly what the Bulls need to get back in the win column. Both are expected to play at least one game in the upcoming road trip.
