Caroline Campbell Burns was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, in April 1986. She went to C.E. Byrd High School, where she ran track. According to her LinkedIn profile, she attended Louisiana State University, graduating in 2018 with a degree in marketing.
While at LSU, Caroline Burns was part of Delta Delta Delta, also known as Tri Delta, according to her LinkedIn profile. Caroline Burns maintains a low profile on social media, including a private Instagram page.
2. Sam & Caroline Burns Were Each Other’s First Valentine as Kids, Began Dating at LSU & Were Married in 2019 in South Carolina

Sam and Caroline Burns grew up together in Shreveport, Louisiana, but didn’t start dating until they were both students at LSU. During an interview with WJCL in 2019, Burns and his then fiancee talked about their history together shortly after they got engaged.
“We grew up in the same hometown, but went to different schools, and so we didn’t start dating until college. We’ve really known each other forever,” Caroline Burns said. “He was actually, or I was his first Valentine when we were 5 years old. So that’s our sweet story.”
Sam Burns added, “She was actually my first Valentine when were 5 years old, then after that she wanted nothing to do with me until about high school and then we started dating my freshman year of college, her sophomore year,” he said. “I always kind of new that she was the one before we started dating, even though we were kind of dating other people.”
They were married on December 20, 2019, in Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina, according to Burns’ Instagram.

Caroline and Sam Burns’ son, Bear, was born in April 2025.
After the third round of the U.S. Open, Sam Burns was asked by reporters about how being a father has changed his life personally and professionally.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s definitely life changing, for sure. I think our nights at home and days at home look a lot different now. We were joking with the Schefflers yesterday afternoon, we were out in the yard, and the boys, no clothes on, just playing in the little splash pad, having the time of their lives,” Burns said. “We were like, ‘What did we do before that?’ I mean, we’re like, ‘Well, we probably just sat around and watched shows and it was quiet.’ But it’s so much fun. There’s nothing better for me getting home after a long day and seeing Bear and Caroline and getting to hang out with them and just, I enjoy it so much, and to have a chance to win on Father’s Day would be really cool.”
4. Caroline Burns Also Has Her Master’s Degree in Counseling From the Westminster Theological Seminary

According to her LinkedIn profile, Caroline Burns also earned her master’s degree in counseling from the Westminster Theological Seminary in 2020.
In 2024, Sam and Caroline Burns spoke at the College Golf Fellowship. The organization posted on Instagram, “Grateful to have Sam and Caroline Burns at the Scottie and Sam Retreat as they shared their story and walk with Christ.”
5. Sam Burns Celebrated His Wife Caroline With a Touching Instagram Post

In December 2021, Sam Burns posted a touching tribute to his wife on Instagram, along with photos from their wedding. Burns wrote in the Instagram caption, “Happy 2 years to my bride! I couldn’t imagine doing life without you. Here’s to many more memories together with the most beautiful person I know inside and out. I love you, Caroline Burns!”
Burns and his wife live in their home state of Louisiana. At the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2023, Burns explained to reporters why they haven’t moved elsewhere and what Louisiana means to them.
“I think for me this is home. I don’t really have a desire to go anywhere else. I have a lot of family in Louisiana. My wife’s from here. And I just enjoy it. I love coming back to where we live. It’s very relaxing,” he told reporters. “We get to go to a lot of cool places on the road and see a lot of big cities, but I don’t really have a desire to live in one. So we just really enjoy it. We like the slower pace.”
