Borussia Dortmund are weighing up making a deadline day move for an Arsenal star and could re-sign Jadon Sancho following his Manchester United exit.

The German club have been forced to re-enter the transfer market at the last minute after Giannis Konstantelias tore his ACL on his debut against Hamburg on Saturday.

The winger is expected to be out for at least several months, leaving Dortmund scrambling for a replacement with just over 24 hours before the summer transfer window shuts.

Sancho is a free agent after the Red Devils let his contract expire earlier this summer following an incredibly disappointing five years at Old Trafford.

There was much hype about his £73million transfer from Dortmund but he struggled to make an impact, before a public fall out with Erik ten Hag effectively ended his United career overnight.

Loan spells at Dortmund, Chelsea and most recently Aston Villa yielded mixed results, though he did reach a Champions League final and win the Europa League and Conference League.

According to Bild, Dortmund are interested in giving the England international another shot, no surprise given he recorded 94 goal contributions in 118 Bundesliga appearances.

However, Sancho would have to forego a signing-on bonus and accept a heavily performance-based contract, with Dortmund concerned about the 26-year-old’s fitness levels.

He is not the only attacking option Niko Kovac’s side are considering however, with Sky Germany reporting that Ethan Nwaneri is also on their shortlist.

Arsenal are more than willing to sanction another loan spell for the teenager who has fallen behind Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and Max Dowman in the pecking order.

A loan would suit Dortmund perfectly and Nwaneri is a player they admire greatly, having attempted to sign him last summer.

However, following a miserable spell at Marseille last season, Nwaneri is not keen on another move abroad and his preference is to stay at the Emirates unless he receives an enticing offer from another Premier League side.

The 19-year-old was left on the bench for Arsenal’s season opening win against Coventry City and it remains to be seen if he’ll play any part in Monday night’s clash at Villa Park.
