Arsenal and Chelsea are among the interested parties keeping an eye on Kenan Yildiz as reports in Italy suggest talks over a new Juventus contract have stalled.

The versatile 20-year-old forward is already into his third season as a regular in the Juve team.

The Turkey international made 52 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 12 goals, and has netted three times in 14 outings during this campaign so far.

Yildiz also has 25 caps for his country, scoring five times at international level, so the level of experience for a player who does not turn 21 until May is extremely high.

Juventus do not want to lose one of their star players and have been in talks with him over an improved contract.

His current deal already runs until 2029 but his salary does not reflect the status he has achieved in the first team and a significant increase is being discussed.

However, Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that contract talks have stalled, with a difference of around €1m (£880,000) between what the club is offering and what the player wants.

An agreement may still be reached but European giants were already circling for Yildiz and the contract situation has only alerted their interest further.

Chelsea saw a bid for the Juventus star rejected last summer but have not given up on bringing him to the Premier League.

Arsenal are also reportedly interested in signing him, while Real Madrid have also been linked with a summer bid in 2026.

Gazzetta report that a bidding war could see Yildiz leave Turin for over €100m (£88m) next year.

The youngster spoke over the summer of not being concerned about his contract situation and even suggested he would happily stay with Juve for his entire career.

‘I’m not thinking about it. I’m not talking about money or anything else, I just want to give my all on the pitch,’ he told Gazzetta, via Gianluca Di Marzio.

‘I’d like to stay at Juventus for life, but in football you never know what can happen.’

He added: ‘Over the past year, I’ve felt like I’m becoming a man, especially in my mentality. There have been difficulties, but I’m happy with the season. Being the symbol of Juve gives me great confidence.’

He also spoke glowingly last year of the pathway for young players at Juventus, telling Tuttosport: ‘I think the Next Gen [Juve reserve team] is very important , it allows the youngest players to show their value and not suffer too much from the leap to the first team.

‘And it’s fantastic that the club has no qualms about focusing on guys like me or [Nicolo] Savona, [Samuel] Mbangula, [Vasilije] Adzic, [Jonas Jakob] Rouhi. Then it’s up to us to make sure that the club is satisfied with a choice like this: here we have everything we need to succeed, it’s up to us to give our all and repay Juve for their trust.’
