Chelsea hope to have Robert Sanchez, Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto available for the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The Blues can salvage a wretched season with silverware at Wembley this weekend having turned in a much-improved performance away at Liverpool last weekend.

It ended a run of six consecutive Premier League defeats despite having no wingers available on the day. Garnacho and Neto missed out with Estevao Willian out for the season and Jamie Gittens still unavailable.

Filip Jorgensen started in goal on Merseyside with Robert Sanchez sidelined as a result of a sickening head clash with Morgan Gibbs-White in the previous game against Nottingham Forest.

Interim boss Calum McFarlane is set to have that trio available again on Saturday.

‘Pedro Neto and Ale Garnacho have trained well this week, so looking really good, really hopeful with them as well. So, yeah, positive signs,’ McFarlane told a press conference on Thursday.

Quizzed on Sanchez, he added: ‘Yes, same news as the other lads, to be honest. Really positive, he’s trained well this week and we’re really hopeful to get him to Saturday.’

After playing 45 minutes against Nottingham Forest, Levi Colwill played the full 90 minutes against Liverpool in a fine display at the back.

After missing most of the season with an ACL injury, the England international could have a major role to play this weekend.

‘He has a really good rehab,’ McFarlane said of Colwill. ‘He’d played a few games before. He played for us against Forest.

‘So, again, a really good training week for Levi. He was exceptional against Liverpool. So, again, we’re really hopeful.’

Reece James has also been declared fit after coming off the bench at Anfield.

‘He’s trained well this week. Happy with Reece. Good to get him some minutes before he played well when he came on as well. So, yeah, largely positive around Reece.’
