Chelsea are looking at signing a centre-back this summer and Como’s Jacobo Ramon is on their shopping list.

The Blues do have a number of options in central defence, but have been linked with signing another centre-back since last summer.

Former manager Enzo Maresca was reportedly frustrated that another central defender was not brought in under his reign.

Since then Liam Rosenior has come and gone and now Xabi Alonso is taking over this summer.

The former Real Madrid manager has the likes of Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoît Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana and Josh Acheampong at his disposal, but another option is likely to be brought in.

The Daily Mail report that Ramon is on Chelsea’s list of targets, having been so in the January transfer window.

The Mail reported in the winter transfer window that Ramon was on Chelsea’s radar, as was Jeremy Jacquet, who has since agreed a move to Liverpool from Rennes.

Marcos Senesi was also well-liked at Stamford Bridge, but he has since agreed to join Tottenham from Bournemouth on a free transfer.

21-year-old Ramon only joined Como from Real Madrid last summer, having made six senior appearances for the Spanish giants.

He even scored in one of only three La Liga appearances for Real Madrid, after coming through the youth ranks in the Spanish capital.

The 6’5″ giant has quickly established himself in Italy, making 37 appearances in all competitions for Como.

Under the management of Cesc Fabregas Como have qualified for next season’s Champions League, with Ramon playing a big role in the impressive Serie A campaign.

The tall and quick centre-back has been capped up to Under-21 level for Spain and was in the squad that won the Under-19 European Championship in 2024.

How much Como will want for Ramon is not clear, but it will be affected by the fact that Real Madrid have a 50 per cent sell-on clause in his contract.

The Italian side managed to sign the defender for just €2.5million (£2.15m) last year, so even with the sell-on clause, they are bound to make substantial profit on him.
