Chelsea vs Barrow preview
Last season’s beaten finalists Chelsea welcome League Two Barrow to Stamford Bridge as they begin their Carabao Cup campaign on Tuesday.
The Blues will perhaps still be mystified as to how they aren’t the defending champions.
Chelsea lost to a much-changed Liverpool side without the likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota that afternoon in February.
But the first step to righting those wrongs could scarcely be more straightforward up against Barrow, who are a staggering 35/1 to claim a shock victory.
Enzo Maresca’s side are beginning to show signs of life having secured successive Premier League wins over Bournemouth and West Ham – both to nil.
Given the size and depth of their squad, Chelsea will likely make sweeping changes for the encounter with Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk expected to start.
Stephen Clemence’s side reached this stage with a fine penalty shoot-out win over Derby and sit top of League Two with five wins from seven outings.
But it looks a tall order for the Bluebirds to continue this mini-fairytale cup run against the might of Chelsea this week.

Chelsea vs Barrow preview betting tips and predictions
First Nkunku
It perhaps goes without saying but waiting for the team news would be advisable for any betting on this fixture.
We expect Enzo Maresca to field a side similar to that he used in the Europa Conference qualifying stages against Servette, which could see Christopher Nkunku heavily involved.
The Frenchman, 26, has had limited opportunities to impress in his Chelsea career but he’s still managed to score seven in his last 15 for the club – including pre-season.
He’s on penalty duty when Cole Palmer isn’t playing and the English maestro will almost certainly be rested ahead of the weekend’s clash with Brighton.
Nkunku has also enjoyed cup competitions throughout his career having netted 11 and provided nine assists in 42 domestic competition for Chelsea, RB Leipzig and PSG.

Given we expect Chelsea to score a handful against their League Two opponents, we’re going with another goalscorer on Tuesday evening.
And the lesser-spotted Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall might just be the answer at reasonable odds of 8/5 to score anytime against Barrow.
