Chiefs’ Chris Jones Fires Off Strong 2-Word Post Before Pivotal Colts Clash

The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for a crucial Week 12 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, and superstar defensive lineman Chris Jones dropped a simple but inspiring message before the game.

“Stay dangerous,” Jones posted on X on November 21, seemingly urging his teammates to continue believing in themselves.

Over the past six seasons leading up to 2025, the Chiefs have easily been the most dangerous team in the NFL. They’ve won three Super Bowls and played in five of the past six championship games.

Jones appears to be reminding his teammates of this fact, as well as anyone else who may have forgotten.

Chris Jones Will Be Key as Chiefs Face Off Against Jonathan Taylor & Colts in Week 12

GettyThe Kansas City Chiefs need superstar defensive lineman Chris Jones to have a big game in Week 12.

The Colts have had a not-so-secret weapon in 2025, and his name is running back Jonathan Taylor.

Entering Week 12, Taylor has already rushed for 1,139 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has 1,399 scrimmage yards total, with another 2 receiving touchdowns.

Going one step further, Taylor is the favorite to win the Offensive Player of the Year award, and he’s a dark horse to take home the NFL MVP trophy, too.

But, like most accomplishments in the game of football, it’s not just Taylor who deserves praise.

Indianapolis flaunts one of the most dominant offensive lines in the league, making it much easier for the superstar running back to make an impact. Quarterback Daniel Jones has also had a very successful bounce-back campaign behind the Colts’ OL after struggling with the New York Giants.

That’s where Jones comes in. Facing such a formidable front, the Chiefs need their superstar defensive lineman to show up in a big way on Sunday.

They also need everyone else on the D-line to do their part as well, including George Karlaftis, Mike Pennel, Derrick Nnadi, Jerry Tillery, Mike Danna, and more. But Jones is the leader of the pack, and with that comes a responsibility to come through in moments like these.

If Jones and company can slow down Taylor and make Daniel Jones a little uncomfortable within the pocket, it’s possible that they can throw off this Indy offense, leading KC to a huge victory in Week 12.

Chris Jones Has Not Filled the Stat Sheet in 2025

Sometimes, a defensive lineman’s impact isn’t always measured by sacks, but most fans would probably say that Jones has not lived up to the expectations of his contract in 2025.

It’s true, Jones often faces double-teams and more attention, making it more difficult for him to get to the quarterback, but that’s no excuse. All of the top defensive linemen around the league go up against the toughest blocking assignments, and most still fill up the stat sheet or at least pressure the QB.

Jones has not done enough of either this season, with just 3.0 sacks and 6 tackles for a loss.

He has also only been credited with 12 pressures on Pro Football Reference, which puts him on pace to significantly underperform from his usual pressure total.

Jones pressured the quarterback 46 times in 2022, 39 times in 2023, and 38 times in 2024. So, clearly, he’s not playing up to his typical standard.

Week 12 would be a great time for Jones to break out, considering a win would put the Chiefs back into the wildcard conversation, and a loss would hurt their chances of making the postseason.
