By now, everyone knows that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs are in a relationship together. The two starting dating in the summer of 2023, and even now, everyone is still talking about their relationship. But, Kelce’s really first love is probably football, at least from a professional standpoint.
Now, the Kansas City Chiefs are coming up on their training camp in July, which is always an exciting time in the NFL, and then, it will be the regular season. This is such an important time for the Chiefs that Kelce is making some moves to facilitate his time with the team and, likely, Taylor Swift.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Takes a Break
Now that training camp is upon the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce and his brother, Jason, are taking a hiatus from their popular podcast, “New Heights.”
“We have come to the end of the road,” Jason said on the latest episode of the show. “Travis is going to training camp, as you all know. Whenever training camp starts, we take a hiatus from the pod, because it’s nearly impossible to do a podcast while somebody’s in training camp.”
So far, the two haven’t announced an official date for the podcast to come back, but all will go silent after next week’s episode, which will drop on July 23. So, listeners will have to find something else to listen to while they wait for the Kelce brothers to get back on the show. Wouldn’t it be great to have Swift on the final episode of the show before hiatus? Stranger things have happened.
Why This Impacts Taylor Swift
So, what does this have to do with Swift? The break from the show will also give Kelce a chance to spend time with Swift as she helps her father recover from heart surgery.
Her father, Scott Swift, 73, has undergone quintuple bypass surgery, following his doctor after noticing something at a recent check-up. According to Rolling Stone, the surgery was not due to a heart attack.
“Swift, her brother Austin, and Scott’s wife of 37 years, Andrea, have been supporting Scott throughout his recovery,” Rolling Stone said in their article on the incident. Also, a spokesperson confirmed to the magazine that Scott is “doing fantastic.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, “Coronary artery bypass grafting is a surgery that restores blood flow to areas of your heart that aren’t getting enough blood. This surgery can improve your heart function and how you feel, especially when you’ve just had a heart attack or there’s an increased risk for you to have one in the near future.”
Back in 2019, Swift published an essay for Elle about both of her parents having had cancer. Swift revealed her mother’s cancer diagnosis in 2015 on Tumblr. “I’ve had to learn how to handle serious illness in my family,” Swift stated at the time. She added, “It’s taught me that there are real problems and then there’s everything else. My mom’s cancer is a real problem. I used to be so anxious about daily ups and downs. I give all of my worry, stress and prayers to real problems now.”
