Chris Eubank Jr needed to go to extreme lengths to avoid a £375,000 fine for his rematch against Conor Benn but he is facing yet another financial penalty.

The 36-year-old was handed a hefty £375k fine ahead of his first fight against Benn in April after he missed the 160lbs weight limit by 0.05lbs.

Benn later revealed that he bought a Rolls Royce with the money Eubank Jr was forced to pay for failing to hit the weight limit.

Both fighters weighed in on Friday ahead of their rematch on Saturday night and surprisingly, Eubank was the lighter of the two as he tipped the scales at 159.1lbs, while Benn weighed 159.3lbs.

But in order to reach that weight, Eubank Jr was forced to cycle while wearing a sauna suit, while another video showed him dripping with sweat after his entire body was covered in multiple non-breathable layers which are designed for the body to shed weight quickly.

Eubank Jr posted the two videos along with the caption: ‘Ain’t no way I’m missing weight this time.’

The use of a sauna and sauna suits is not officially banned by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC), however, boxers have been warned not to use them as it is seen as an inappropriate way to cut weight.

In July, Eubank Jr was fined a further £10,000 by the BBBofC over the ‘misuse of social media’ for posting several videos of his weight-cutting process in the build up to his victory over Benn.

Eubank Jr may now be landed with another fine after posting similar videos on his social media pages on Friday.

‘Our doctors are very concerned with dehydration, so that’s what we advise everybody, all the trainers. We send out documentation in regards to it,’ BBBofC general secretary, Robert Smith, told The Athletic in July.

‘Documentation is sent out to the boxers when they get licensed with regard to rapid weight-making measures. We send out as much education as we possibly can, but we can’t police everybody.

‘In this recent case, the council was satisfied with the explanation of the trainer.’

For Saturday’s rematch, a rehydration clause is in place which means Eubank Jr and Benn are not allowed to weigh 10lbs over the 160lbs limit on the morning of the fight.
