Colts Forced to Pursue Something Better Now

The Indianapolis Colts may have lost on Sunday, but things are still looking good for the AFC South team. They are tied with the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots with a 7-2 record. The Colts have scored the most points in the NFL (290) and have allowed the 13th-fewest (181).

The trade deadline is at 4 PM EST on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The Colts have yet to pull the trigger on a deal to bring in some defensive help.

However, that hasn’t stopped other NFL teams from executing deals.  A reported target of the Colts was shipped off to the Dallas Cowboys. This trade comes the day after they dropped their Monday night game against the Arizona Cardinals, 27-10.

Dallas Cowboys Win the Logan Wilson Sweepstakes

Several reports revealed that the Cowboys acquired Logan Wilson. Adam Schefter was one insider to report the news on Tuesday morning.

“A deal for Dallas: Cowboys are finalizing a trade to acquire Bengals MLB Logan Wilson, sources tell me and Todd Archer,” Schefter wrote on a social media post early November 4th. “Earlier Monday, Jerry Jones told Stephen A. Smith that the Cowboys have made a trade ahead of Tuesday’s NFL deadline. It is expected to be for Wilson, for whom the Bengals have been seeking a sixth-round pick.”

“Wilson signed four-year $36 million extension in July 2023 that still has two years remaining on it after this season.”

Dianna Russini of The Athletic has reported the cost to acquire the Cincinnati Bengals‘ linebacker.

“The Bengals are receiving a 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange from Dallas for veteran LB Logan Wilson, source says,” Russini wrote on Tuesday morning.

According to ESPN, Wilson had requested a trade out of Cincinnati earlier in October.

“Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson has requested a trade, a source told ESPN on Thursday,” ESPN’s Ben Baby wrote on October 23, 2025. “The sixth-year player has started in all seven of his appearances this season. However, the team captain has seen his role reduced over the course of the season. Rookies Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight Jr. have received the bulk of the team’s defensive snaps.”

Who’s Left For the Colts to Add?

Three teams were in hot pursuit of the linebacker. ESPN’s Schefter wrote about the connections on November 1.

“Another Cincinnati defensive standout whose name has come up as the deadline approaches is linebacker Logan Wilson, who requested to be traded less than two weeks ago,” Schefter wrote. “Teams that have expressed some interest in Wilson are the Bills, Cowboys, and Colts, sources told ESPN. Wilson also is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Bears because of a calf injury.”

Ultimately, the Cowboys acquired the sought-after trade target, beating out the Colts and Buffalo Bills.

Long-time Colts analyst Mike Chappell recently revealed several targets that could interest the team. At the time of this writing, many of them are still available.

“Other possible trade candidates who’ve been mentioned leading up to the Tuesday deadline,” Chappell wrote on Monday, November 3, 2025. “Cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, linebacker Logan Wilson, and edge Trey Hendrickson of the reeling and 3-6 Cincinnati Bengals.”

“Seattle corner Riq Woolen and edge Bradley Chubb and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick of the Dolphins.”

With Wilson crossed off the list, that still leaves five options: Cam Taylor-Britt, Trey Hendrickson, Riq Woolen, Bradley Chubb, and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

It’s still early on trade deadline day, and anything could happen between now and 4 PM EST.
