Some serious speed bumps have popped up for the Indianapolis Colts over the past week or so in what’s been a magical 2025 campaign to this point. In Week 12, the Colts suffered a tough overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, and then just days later, it was reported that star quarterback Daniel Jones is playing through a fracture in his fibula.
While Jones is good to go for Indianapolis moving forward, he isn’t the only surprise addition to the injury report for the team. That’s because on Saturday, rookie tight end Tyler Warren‘s status for the team’s upcoming game suddenly became a serious question after the Colts updated their injury report.
Colts Add Tyler Warren to Week 13 Injury Report
While there’s been some reason for the Colts to panic recently, a lot has gone right for them during their 8-3 start to the season. One of the bigger developments on offense has been the play of Warren, as he has quickly emerged as a crucial piece of Indy’s passing attack, thanks to his rapport with Jones under center.
Warren fell to the Colts at the No. 14 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he’s already proven himself to be a star for the team. Through 11 games, Warren has caught 55 passes for 662 yards and four total touchdowns, which has put him in the conversation for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Having a reliable tight end that Indianapolis can rely on in the passing game has helped open things up for Jones, but Warren may not be able to play in a pivotal divisional clash with the Houston Texans. That’s because Warren was added to the injury report on Saturday with an illness that has led to his status for the game being changed to questionable.
“Injury report update for Houston vs. Indianapolis: TE Tyler Warren (Illness) has been added to the injury report and is questionable for Sunday’s game,” the Colts shared in a post on X.

Warren’s sudden addition to the injury report is certainly concerning, especially given the fact that we know Jones isn’t 100% healthy under center now either. If Warren can’t go, that would place more of a burden on Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, and Josh Downs at the wide receiver position to step up for Jones in the passing game. At tight end, Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree, and Will Mallory would see more work if Warren is inactive.
The good news is that Warren still has about 24 hours to get himself healthy, but if he can’t go, the Colts’ offense could be in a tough spot against a lethal Texans’ defense. With the race atop the AFC South heating up, Indianapolis needs every win it can get right now, which makes Warren’s status for this game very important. All eyes will be on Warren ahead of kickoff, as the team will reveal its final inactives ahead of this game at 11:30 a.m. ET.
