Colts Have Big Chance to Make $24 Million Upgrade

The Indianapolis Colts will clash with the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12. The Chiefs are a team that they shouldn’t take for granted; after all, they have played in three consecutive Super Bowls, winning two of them. They will need to be wary of Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, who are leading the Chiefs offensively.

The Colts have the best offense in the NFL, but they have a golden opportunity to enhance their offensive potential further. Justin Tucker is predicted to land with the Colts at the conclusion of his lengthy suspension.

Tucker had a down year in 2024, converting on 73.3 percent of his field goal attempts.

Indianapolis Colts Linked to Controversial Baltimore Ravens Kicker

John Breech released a new piece discussing the potential landing spots for the former Baltimore Ravens kicker. He lists the Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, and the Colts as potential suitors.

Breech lays out why the Colts would be a top suitor for Tucker’s services.

“The Colts started the year with Spencer Shrader as their kicker, and he went a perfect 14 of 14 on field goals before suffering a season-ending ACL injury in Week 5,” Breech wrote for CBS Sports on November 13, 2025. “The Colts then brought in Michael Badgley to take his place, and although he’s been serviceable, he hasn’t been totally reliable. Badgley has hit just 88.2% of his extra point attempts this year, which is the second-worst percentage in the NFL for anyone with more than 15 attempts.”

“Tucker has hit 98.5% of the extra point attempts in his career and has never finished with an accuracy rate below 96.6%.”

When Would the Colts Add Justin Tucker?

Points are a premium in the NFL, and one conversion or field goal can be the difference between winning and losing. Breech believes Badgley is walking on thin ice, and his Week 12 performance could determine if the Colts take a flyer on the $24 million kicker.

“The Colts have a Week 10 bye, and coach Shane Steichen said his team won’t be looking to add a kicker during their week off,” Breech reveals. “But, if Badgley stumbles with any missed kicks in a Week 11 showdown against the Chiefs, it won’t be surprising if Indy decides to add someone.”

There is one problem with this strategy: the reason that Tucker was available in the first place.

On January 30, 2025, Tucker was accused of inappropriate behavior by six massage therapists from four different spas in Baltimore. According to a CBS Sports report, “Tucker was reportedly banned from two of the spas, and several massage therapists ended his sessions early or refused to work on him again.”

Following the allegations, Tucker released a statement.

“I cannot be any clearer. These allegations are false and incredibly hurtful to both me and, more importantly, my family,” Tucker’s statement reads.  The kicker also said that the claims were “unequivocally false” and “desperate tabloid fodder.”

Regardless of what actually happened, Breech believes the Colts may have hesitation in recruiting Tucker.

“If the team goes on the hunt for a new kicker, they might prefer to stay away from Tucker,” Breech wrote. “He has served his time in the NFL’s eyes. So, it will be interesting to see if any team out there gives the 35-year-old a second chance.”
