Colts Make Major Announcement On $6.5 Million Dual Threat Player

The Indianapolis Colts have won only one of their last three games, and have suffered a few injuries on the way.

One of those injuries is $6.5 million  wide receiver Ashton Dulin, who suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of the 20-23 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that Dulin, who is also a key contributor to the team’s special teams, will miss some time, but did not give a clear timeline on when the player will return.

Now, a couple days after the loss to the Chiefs, the Colts made the announcement regarding the two-way player.

Ashton Dulin Will At Least Miss Four Weeks

Ashton Dulin has not been a major threat on the offensive side of the ball, but is a player to worry about in special teams.

The former division two player only has 106 receiving yards on five catches and 44 rushing yards on three carries this season.

On special teams, it is a different story for Dulin. The player has 328 kickoff return yards for the Colts, with one of the returns going for 50 yards, on 11 return attempts this season. He has also recorded 8 tackles.

Indianapolis recently announced that Dulin will be placed on injured reserve, meaning the earliest the player will return to the game day field will be on Week 17.

Earliest this season, Colts special team coordinator Brian Mason said that he believed Dulin was a top 3 special team player in the league. Now, the team will have to navigate special teams a bit differently with Dulin on IR.

The Colts are currently on track to play in the playoffs, with the chances of Dulin returning likely high. But if his recovery process goes side ways, the team could be without its best special teamer in the postseason.

Latest Addition To Colts

It appears the Colts are set on the wide threat part of the offense.

Rookie tight end Tyler Warren currently has the most receiving yards on the team with 662 yards. Wide receivers Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman Jr are both tailing the rook with 611 and 607 yards, respectively.

The main focus now for the team is filling in the gap that Ashton Dulin has left with him being out with a hamstring injury.

To have a complete 53-man roster, the Colts decided to sign a two-time special team All-Pro. George Odum has signed to Indy’s roster after initially signing with the team’s practice squad on November 18th.

This is Odum’s second stint with the Colts, as he was a member of the squad from 2018 to the 2021 season. Odum was a first-team All-Pro with the Colts in the 2020 season when he led the league in most special team tackles.

The newly signed member of the squad has yet to play in the 2025 season and last played for the San Francisco 49ers the last three season, including earned a second-team All-Pro in the 2022 season.

Indianapolis lost a key member of their special teams, but now have the experience to make up for the loss.
