Commanders Open to Trading 2 Veteran Offensive Linemen: Insider

The Washington Commanders haven’t had much go right for them this season, and that continued in Week 9 on Sunday Night Football, as they got destroyed by the Seattle Seahawks. Making matters even worse, quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a serious elbow injury along the way that could end his 2025 season prematurely.

With the 2025 campaign looking like a wash, the Commanders are in a bit of a tough spot at the trade deadline. They obviously have the talent needed to go on a deep playoff run since they did that last season, but the injury bug simply will not go away. With a 3-6 record, reports have emerged indicating that Washington is open to trading away a pair of veteran offensive linemen.

Commanders Listening to Trade Offers for Andrew Wylie, Nick Allegretti

With the 2025 season heading in the wrong direction, the Commanders could look to sell off some spare parts that could help them out in the future. Armed with the oldest roster in the league, Washington is going to have to look to get younger at some point, and that could start at the trade deadline, which is less than 24 hours away.

One area where the Commanders have some extra depth is along their offensive line. George Fant, Andrew Wylie, and Nick Allegretti are all backups for them who have starting experience throughout their careers, and with teams always looking for offensive line help, they could hold some value on the trade market.

Of that trio, reports indicate that Washington is open to trading both Wylie and Allegretti. Wylie is in his third season with the Commanders and has 92 starts in his eight-year career, while also featuring the versatility to play at both guard and tackle. Allegretti is in his second season with the Commanders and has 32 starts over his seven-year career, although he has only played at the guard positions throughout his career.

“Sources: The Commanders have been open to trading several players, including OL Andrew Wylie and OL Nick Allegretti, both of whom bring extensive starting and playoff experience,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared in a post on X. “Wylie has valuable position flexibility, having played both guard spots and right tackle during his career.”

Should the Commanders Trade Andrew Wylie and Nick Allegretti?

Both Wylie and Allegretti have lost their starting jobs, and while they are solid backup options the team could turn to in a pinch, they could be worth quite a bit on the trade market. Sure, it’s not a great look that these guys aren’t starting, but they could hold more value for a team that needs offensive line help and is actively in the playoff hunt.

The Commanders aren’t going to move either of these guys just for the sake of doing so, but if the right offer comes across their table, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see one or both of Wylie and Allegretti be on the move. Washington wasn’t expected to be a seller entering the season, but with the deadline right around the corner, it will be interesting to see how they operate over the next few hours.
